i finally replaced my batteries wires from 14awg to 10awg and connectors from xt60s to xt90s removed/replaced every bus bar after polishing it up.....ANNND its done sweet fack all to improve the battery resistance reading on either of my chargers.... :( shrodingers box has finally been opened and my...

Re: new larger lipo seems worse, is it?

turns out my info wasn't accurate. or its changed, or i mixed/messed stuff up. its been a while..... but reading back through i dont know how i got stuff messed up so bad... my older (4 years now) cells are still actually reading between 1-2mohm. before i wrongly said it was 21mohms :S my newer cell...

Re: best shock type for rear hubs?

i suppose this is more for comfort than performance now i think of it. im not sam pilgrim. biggest jump/ramp id take the bmx thing off is a 3 footer if that. i did put a seat post suspension on my other hardtail non ebike. i suppose i could get another for this, but more weight/cost. a fatter rear t...

Re: best shock type for rear hubs?

lol, pump arrived. i let some air out. they were at 110psi they are now at 90. softer than before but i can feel little to no difference between these air shocks and the cheap coils. whilst looking at the A5 specs my 125mm model only has 20mm of travel. im not sure if this is the same or less than m...

Re: best shock type for rear hubs?

thansk for the replies, a5 air shock came today. put it on the ebmx its ok, it is a lot stiffer than my old one....my backsides not really enjoying that. i was kinda hoping for a softer start to the compression with it progressivly getting stiffer towards the end. with the aim of a more comfortable ...

Re: do two 1500w controllers make a 3000w one?

thanks for the replies

yeah. i figure a non sensored brushless motor wouldnt run off of two escs due to timing.

but a sensed.....i thought would do the timing ok, i guess not. :(

another motor for 2wd would add extra weight, so it looks like ill have to buy me a better esc if i want more torque.

do two 1500w controllers make a 3000w one?

being a bit of a cheap skate here. i have a spare hksunwin 1500w controller. the other is already on my bike (48v1000w hub motor run at 72v 1500w). just wondering how viable it would be to use two of them in conjunction if i did want to up my torque? (probably with either this motor modded or anothe...

best shock type for rear hubs?

i have a 20" and 26" hub motored bikes. 1000w hub motors. both have cheap rear spring suspension (no dampening). the smaller one is more offroady, and the larger bike is on roads only. i have ordered an A5 rear air shock for the 20" EMBX thing for testing.. then i realised i should of...

fpv cam (voltage sag cutout eliminator) ?

i have made a little fighting robot with an fpv cam. the problem is under extreme load (4 servos at once) the camera will cutout momentarily due to voltage sag. solutions like a seperate battery or a seperate bec will work. however their implimentation will mean my osd (on screen display) voltage wi...

Re: 1 1/8" forks on 1" frame???? :S

thanks for the replies.

the adpator looks good, apart from the price.

however, i bought the right sized tube and have cut/welded it to my bike frame.
was less than £20 for the pipe, only took an hour and some constructive swearing.

alls well.
thanks again

i recently made an ebmx of sorts.... out of a girls 20" full suspension moutain bike. the front forks are a little weedy so i got myself a better set of 20" front suspension forks. problem is im going from a 1" threaded steering tube to a 1 1/8" threadless steerer tube. i have op...

my friend has a paddle mixer for mixing building materials. its currently on a variable speed trigger, for some reason he wants it just as an off an on switch with a soft start. i told him to cable tie the trigger....but he doesnt want to do this. being a cheap person. i wonder if a large capcitor o...

Re: new larger lipo seems worse, is it?

the only thing i can think is the copper bus bars may have a very thin layer of oxide on them which is contributing to the extra resistance.... its annoying as all the cells appear to be behaving identically. there's not an obviously odd one out. all individual cell resistances and voltages are iden...

the sag im experiencing is closer to 5 - 7v over an 18s battery that's 0.27v to 0.38v per cell. i have a voltage meter in my throttle that displays voltage to xx.x (one decimal point) i also temporarily plugged in a multimeter to see if this was accurate (it is) i test the capacity/resistance throug...

Re: new larger lipo seems worse, is it?

http://www.ebaracus.com/sites/default/files/2012/12/EIG-ePLB-C020-Datasheet.pdf heres their datasheet. my bikes max discharge should be around 21amps (1500w@72v) the internal resistance of each cell on the new bat is about 2mohm or less, on my old bat is about 21mohm. my old batt charged to 4.2v a c...

new larger lipo seems worse, is it?

i recently swapped out my 4 year old 13ah rc car lipos for brand new 20ah ePLB-CO20B cells. both packs are 3x6s in series for 72v nominal. only thing is.....my new cells sag more and seem to have a similar amount of capacity/range. i feel like ive sort-of been ripped off. have i bought duff cells? o...

Re: Need a new 72v controller, any suggestions?

yeah thats pretty much lvc... basically the battery cannot suppply whats needed. you might not see the voltage sag as this precaution may kick in quickly. max current draw is usually when your accelerating from a standstill.....uphill this is exacerbated moreso. once your at or closer to top speed c...

Re: How to know if my Lithium Battery Pack is bad

its really not that wrong. its usually the motor manufacturers ratings that are wrong really. the manufacturers website says 500w....so i assume a 500w controler and a 500w hub motor. but i suppose the motor could handle more power. that is why i said "at its rated voltage" and "aroun...

checked their website, never seen them before, looks cool. only problem i saw was the motor rating at 500w. i will try to explain/help essentially a 500w motor will only ever draw around 500watts at its rated voltage. it will only ever ask for 500w so if your old lead acid battery could provide says...
