Re: mxus xf15 gear hub motor teardown

hi again fourbanger i forgot your second question, " why is it better than the SWX02 series ?" because it has thinner laminates and comes in a faster wind i could not find an swx with a goodly fast wind and the xf15 sold as a 36v motor has less turns and more wire than any of the swx02's i have ever...

Re: mxus xf15 gear hub motor teardown

Hi Fourbanger, the measurement changed when i went form eyeballing it and guesstimating and getting out the calipers, for the greenpedel motor it is sitting in a box abandoned because the motor was not a bafang. it had a plastic ring gear and the motor rotor was horribly unbalanced and i was at the ...

Re: Bosch mid drive with vesc controller

Hi Kosio86, if your torque sensor was damaged i would expect it to either give more power than usual for pedal effort, there are reports elsewhere on es that talk about failing torque sensors and when their spring gets weak or crushed by the elephant legged individuals who can stomp harder than the ...

Re: Mid-drive IPM motor options?

Hi Nice discussion , Seeing as you are all looking at big flat motors for a killer middrive, i thought i would add my latest to the mix , probably a lot more affordable than most of the others as well its the core out of a muxs xf15 1 108mm x23mm stator wound with 6 turns of 10 inhand 0.5mm copper a...

Building a battery now with A123 AMP20 20 ah pouch cells will be 14s 1p to go with a flipsky 12fet vesc6.6 and hopefully saturation will be a little more than the 60 battery amps that the vesc is capable of. More pics to follow , slowgress is progress

This shows all the terminations, what you dont see is that under the heatshrink the wires ends are all soldered and then coated in oil resistant silicone this is then squeezed by the heat shrink hopefully sealing the wire core and insulation against fluid creep. it has been a couple of months being ...

Re: mxus xf15 gear hub motor teardown

vasam : i have ordered a set of those 12mm wide gears, I rekon they will work well, a little extra clearance wont hurt, the last set of steel gears i got were for the smaller older bafang hubs, and they were .5mm wider than the originals and they rubbed on the face of the one way clutch housing. The...

Here is a new geared hub I've been looking at as something better than the swx bafang for a variety of reasons that will become aparent. having ordered two to test and hot up, they arrived swiftly direct from mxus factory Photos to come a cassett version to go in a wheel with steel gears (aliexpress...

Re: Low RPM low power high torque motors for direct drive

you can get plenty of gimball control motors for drones the larger ones have a 80mm dia stator and come in very low kv forms wound with fine wire, not good for high power levels but high efficiency 3 phase brushless motors that will turn slowly on your low voltage with a cheap sensorless controller....

Re: Bosch mid drive with vesc controller

Hi jabalat, no idea on the price or availability of parts, i would think the small plastic gear would get mashed first if the motor was allowed to run at excessive temperature, with the bosch controller at 250 to 350w this will never happen but with the vesc pushing 800+w it would be easy to cook it...

hi SlowCo, I like the suggestion do they use a standard three dog sprocket like the nexus? It definitely needs it to be a capable hill climber and it would put less strain on the igh at top speed
