Re: Tempted to lick my 50 volt battery
Pretty much. Part of your tongue would become lifeless and cooked, not indifferent to frostbite. It would rot or fall off, taking you out in the process.

Re: Tempted to lick my 50 volt battery
I second the ear to ear idea, less painful as ears have much higher resistance and we don't know what will happen.

I bought this to play around with. I dont need it, already have a nice setup. But for $13 shipped I could not pass it up. https://www.banggood.com/DIY-Portable-Battery-Storage-Spot-Welding-Machine-PCB-Circuit-Board-Welding-Equipment-Spot-Welders-for-18650-26650-12V-p-1646749.html?utm_design=18&...

Re: EEB upgrade to coaxial swingarm @48v???
I did some research and my battery is good for 100a continuous draw so using the 80a controller should be about 4300w on a full charge. It looks like the drive side has a 32 tooth front and 43 tooth rear. I am assuming there is some reduction built into these motors? If it turns a similar speed as ...

Re: MXUS 3000 Hub Motor - V1 V2 V3
Too bad that site doesn't ship outside Europe. They could probably sell more parts. Seems odd that they have a US-English version of the pages (even with a USA flag!) but no options to ship here. :/ If ebay sellers are any indication in general, a lot of the time smaller shops will ship outside con...

Hey , i tried to find everywhere in the internet but couldn't find the sizes of the bearings on MXUS 3k V3? I would like to order replacement bearing first before taking apart the motor because i'm using it daily. Any help is appreciated, thanks. In addition to the magnet, you can find standalone a...

Re: Stop-a-flat tubes
Sealant has been invented, no point in putting heavier stuff that something long enough will still poke through. I have impossibly thin tires with some Slime sealant in them and I go not only off road but off trail too. Sealant doing it's job perfectly.

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?
"...quite wide...?" I don't get it Tommm. He says he wants cargo bike which could be an ebike with a not so low Q-factor. Is a small increase in motor width much of an issue when pulling cargo? You ask, "other issues"? Maybe $$. Can you make a motor frame? Look into a QS 1000 or...

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?
Looking at the cyclone 6k & gearbox for a single reduction left side drive cargo bike application. Top speed only needs to be 50kph but needs torque for hills & load etc. Questions- Does it have noisy steel gears in the gearbox or nylon like the 3k? Does it have same bolt pattern/ diameter ...

Re: Please help me critique my dream ebike.
I would change - Motor top speed to equal cruising speed for good acceleration and hill handling (you can switch field weakening on to go a bit over) - Don't size your single speed vehicle for a party trick or bragging right number which will make every other metric such as acceleration, hill handli...

Bump looking for same information. I set speed sensor source to hall A, it shows wheel rpm (based on motor) but 0 for vehicle speed. I would rather not install a big ugly magnet and sensor. Did you also setup the wheel diameter? RE: Doust72, the "cruise" control input has miscellaneous us...

Re: GNG mid drive *sometimes* does not respond to throttle?
It was one of the kelly reps that suggested the 12v input thing for the halls. Maybe there is also a setting about what voltage hall signal input to expect.

Re: GNG mid drive *sometimes* does not respond to throttle?
No need, that was perfectly clear. I've changed it over to the 12v wire and it happens less often and when it does it seems to recover more easily, will keep investigating... Thanks very much for your help! Really, would be lost without it. Maybe it will happen a tiny bit less often when the bike i...

Re: GNG mid drive *sometimes* does not respond to throttle?
If I manually move it backwards it does indeed start working again. This isn't the controller from the gng website, I wanted something smaller to fit the frame better (and potentially be quieter) and thought this might do the trick, perhaps not such a good idea in hindsight. I've looked over the di...

Re: GNG mid drive *sometimes* does not respond to throttle?
If you spin the motor freewheel backwards by hand (it will also spin the motor), and try to throttle again, does it start working again? If so it is hall related fault, it is known cyclone and kelly controllers don't really like each other (well the cyclone motor/halls are just really bad noise wise...

Re: CYC X1 PRO new build
This is not correct. The controller is not power-limited; lower volts will not get you more battery amps. Current is limited to 90A within the input voltage range. At 90A, 52V = 4680W, 72V = 6480W, subject to thermal cutback. Adding battery is also the single most effective thing you can do to impr...

Re: CYC X1 PRO new build
Hello, Looking to grab the newest CYC X1 Pro and run the BAC855 at 3000W. I am new to this game but I am not sure if its the best route for me to run a 52v or 72v setup? I am under the impression higher voltage is ?? better?? Thanks in advance for any insight. This is an easy question since the bac...
