Re: 2 Speed Xiongda hubmotor

If you think a reputable vendor would not consider stating that you can run 1500W thru this motor, then I can help you define "reputable". As hi Not that i m retarded or something but i dont understant this sentence cause it is complex and assumptions. could you rephrase it for me and may...

Re: 2 Speed Xiongda hubmotor

That someone doesn't understand the workings of the system. There is no way to put fuses between the motor and the controller. And your battery should be equipped with a descent BMS with short circuit protection and a fuse already. If it hasn't got a good BMS, I strongly advise to change the batter...

Re: 2 Speed Xiongda hubmotor

Knutsy, you are in fact a vendor for this product and have not publicly identified yourself as such. You have a profit motive for your statements and this should be known to all who read them. I doubt there is another motor responsible for the number of failures in a fairly short period of time rel...

Ok ill keep hoping . tx.

someone told me to put 2 breacker in my setup to protect the parts.

one between the motor and controller
and
one between the controler and battery

what do you think about this idea and also how to determine which resistance of fuse to use?

Re: 2 Speed Xiongda hubmotor

I've built dozens of bikes with these motors. Never had any problems with sun gears, not even on older versions. I admit that I choose motors for my clients according to their usage and situation so this prevents breakage because of unadapted installation. If you want to be extra assured of durabil...

Re: Copper strips instead of nickel?

apart from resistance increase is there a risk of fire starting if using non coated copper to solder on 18650?? or other things to consider? id say resistance decrease if anything if using copper, but best not to solder anything directly to 18650. there are very good reasons not to do you mean it s...

Re: Copper strips versus nickel strips on battery packs?

Copper is a huge hassle to use right now, but many people are working on it. Copper is cheap and available, and it should remain cheap for the foreseeable future. Where it is most useful is in a small battery pack that has cells that are capable of putting out very high amps, because nickel has muc...

WiCH cell emplacements should i not use to fit the bms and not create prob...

There are rings made of fish paper (or something like that) you can put on the positive ends of the cell to insulate the rest of the case.
it is true but still i like to minimise de risks.

Re: comparison li po li ion for trolling motor fishing

the 26650 weighs twice as much as an 18650 and it has about twice the capacity. you only have to do half the connections. if your spot welding that could save you quite a few thousand spot welds :D or if i use magnets, i only need half the magnets :thumb: hi could you send me a link or tuto how to ...

Re: comparison li po li ion for trolling motor fishing

For my 30lb Minnkota, I built a 24AH pack using 8AH lipo pouch cells three years ago. I use it in a kayak. All-in price is $70 for my pack: $30(cells)+$14(I upgraded resistor-network minnkota controller with much more efficient PWM variable speed)+$25(water-proof case, fittings, copper cable). hi v...

Re: how do you solder without seeing?

It was a bad joke. I remember welds being x-rayed, costly. To test welds you preform them on test materials and then pull them apart to see how the weld is doing. Then try to be constant. my question is not about solidity of the weld! it is about finding how can i aim straight on everytime on posit...

hi tx for the image what do these 2 do? the second is a special container for 18650 right? It's a cell. Like an 18650 flashlight cell, but 25Ah. You don't have to weld it, because it has terminals that you can clamp to directly. Maybe you should do some reading. i search Threaded posts but there ar...
