Re: Accidental ebike newbie with controller and battery questions

Thanks for posting, it's always good to understand these things more. As things stand I haven't gone for the 10ah battery from my previous post. I'm looking at a 36v15.6amp hailong battery at the moment and was wondering if it would work with this https://torquetech.co.uk/products/ebike-sensorless-...

Re: TSDZ2 OSF for 860C - combining 0.20C and v12

The twitch issue is solved courtesy of mspider65's bugfix in the V13. Many other changes in this version attached. Everything is on github for those that want to see the code. A lot of it is an experiment to get myself back into coding a little, I'm happy with using it for myself, but others might f...

Re: BT Interface for TSDZ2 Open Source firmware - Work in progress

Im wondering what the reasoning for the reduce to 18kHz PWM is? Is it timing given the extra instructions to read the ADC in the PWM interrupt?

Re: TSDZ2 OSF for all displays, VLCD5-VLCD6-XH18, LCD3, 860C-850C-SW102.

My first impression with adding pop cc remained: the problem still exists. Once I really noticed that the motor turned on again and produced kind of a stroke on the crankshaft. Problem can't be reproduced with a certain action. But it seem to happen with higher cadence (~80) and moderate pedal forc...

Re: TSDZ2 OSF for all displays, VLCD5-VLCD6-XH18, LCD3, 860C-850C-SW102.

I am using 20.1C2 and like others have said, I am getting an occasionally feedback through the pedals like a tooth is missing in the main gear (no noise or apparent effect on the motor). It only happens in higher cadences, with lower pressure on the pedals. There can be anywhere between 5 and 20 mi...

I'm baffled... either this motor sucks, or something is wrong with mine. Rode the bike to work this morning again... this stupid piece of shit start overheating 3.7mi into my ride, at assist level 6, while maintaining 150-200w of motor power. My ride to work is 6.1 miles total with an elevation gai...

I did have some success soldering when I had the right combination of solder and flux. I have had no luck at all finding the right flux even at Home Depot and True value hardware. I will need to order good quality flux and solder. And the reason not to use ordinary flux-cored solder like everyone e...

Sometimes it seems to be like an out of control Diesel engine where it just keeps getting hotter and hotter no matter what I do... including turning the assist off and just pedaling.
Surely this means you have a fault in the temperature sensing?

Could be, but you'd never know that until you change the wires around ONLY ON THE MOTOR THAT DOES NOT WORK. AND IT DOESNT MATTER THAT THE COLOR COMBO'S ARE THE SAME ON THE WORKING MOTOR. IT SIMPLY DOES NOT MATTER! Leave the good motor alone and forget about it, forget about the working motor and co...

Maybe someone else can chime in to debunk me or reinforce and emphasis to Curtis what needs to be done. You got it wrong Curtis. Its obvious the wires need changing to get the correct combination. Everything is color coded. What could possibly need to be aligned ? I would only need to do that if I did not know what the wires were coming from the motor. Just follow the flowchart and you will not have to test all 36 possible combinations. You will only have to switch around a few wires following a known methodology until it runs. It shows the direction of the wheel is correct so that should mean the phase wires are also correct right ? Did you read what I wrote? I guess if it is safe for the motor to go switching around sensor wires I could try it. I just need to build a 10S - 1P pack for such testing . Go through the flow chart previously posted, methodically and carefully, and you will find the correct combinations. What order works for one controller wi...

This sounds promising. According to famichiki "...the manufacturer has confirmed it's safe for plastic gears" https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=79788&start=7575 And Get Tools Direct sells a 450g cartridge for $30.50 + $8.00 for shipping. https://www.gettoolsdirect.com....

I don’t have a BBS01 but I use the following two greases on a TSDZ2 which I think has a similar gearing system to the Bafang. I also had trouble finding the Mobil greases here in Brisbane, so this is what I’ve found that seems to work. Inox MX-6 on the nylon gear. It should be safe and not degrade p...

Re: TSDZ2 OSF for 860C - combining 0.20C and v12

It should work with 850C as the display protocol is the same. I haven’t tested it though.

The file to use should be TSDZ2-v20.1C.V12.hex

I have only done a little bit of testing, so while it flashed and ran ok for me, there’s every chance there are hidden issues.

TSDZ2 OSF for 860C - combining 0.20C and v12

Absolutely have loved trying out mbrusa's new 20.1C fork... particularly hybrid mode! Thanks mbrusa and all the other OSF developers. I've had a few days off so had a play with bringing the mbrusa 20.1C changes to mspider65's v12, so I could try out v12 with an 860C display and no bluetooth module. ...

Really excited to try this out. Have been looking at mspider65's improvements in v7 but didn't have a way to try them out as I have only an 860c display. Now I can - hopefully this weekend. Thankyou mbrusa, and mspider65!
