Re: Bafang brake cut-off 3 wires to a dc jack input (maybe 2wires) help dont know :l

Probably it's quite straightforward to connect. Bafang connector has +5V, ground and brake signal wires. Search for a diagram for the pinout, but note that wire colours might be different depending on the manufacturer. 2-wire sensor you connect to 5V and brake signal lines and polarity makes no diff...

Re: TDSZ2 - Not Working from new !

Okay so definitely overvoltage issue :D You could get it running by draining the battery below 42V but it might take a couple of days with the bike light :P It is possible to run the 36V motor with 48V battery, but that would require updating the controller firmware, either to OSF or stock 48V versi...

Re: TSDZ2 750W no more powerful than 250W

I found the 'Power Setting (A)' in the display's 'hidden setting', stock firmware. The default setting is 16 and goes up to 32. I can't find much about what the setting actually changes, some people seem to suggest it is Amps, some people that it's degrees of it's full power. So I am wondering how ...

Re: TDSZ2 - Not Working from new !

Yes if my guess is correct then the problem would be your charger providing slightly too high voltage, which might be possible to adjust by opening it and turning a trim pot. I remember this has been discussed in the main thread but that is quite long to go through. The overvoltage cutoff is a softw...

Re: TDSZ2 - Not Working from new !

It is possible that the battery voltage is too high, I think some people have had that problem with 48V rated batteries. The 48V nominal battery usually means 13 cells (18560 type) in series (13S). The voltage range in these batteries is around 39-55V, but usually the maximum charge is limited to 54...

Re: TDSZ2 - Not Working from new !

Is it a 36V ot 48V motor kit and do you have a multimeter to check the battery voltage?

Do you have the included brake levers attached? If you have then test the motor with them unplugged.

Re: Putting together a starter e-handcycle, know nothing about bikes

As you want to keep it simple, a hub motor in one of the rear wheels would skip many problems concerning the controls in the front wheel. Grin All-Axle motor is probably the only option for single sided drop-out, and even that is not guaranteed to work. I suggest you ask the company selling the hand...

Perhaps Grin's GMAC motor would be even better for hilly areas as you could use regen. With Phaserunner and CA the motor drag could be eliminated with the "electronic freewheel" function.

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I've been riding with the 52V stock firmware using 36V motor with thermal pads, cut side cover and few small cooling fins in the recess below the cut side cover. In the winter with heavy 27.5x3.0" studded tires I usually use level 3, which reaches max power quite easily, probably because my tor...

BTW, does anyone know where to get new gears for the g370? I think all the juddering I experienced while trying to tune it is what have damaged them, but I was slightly disappointed when it started making the typical gear-sounds. I've ordered another Aikema 75sx to replace it, but I would like to e...

And the sprag clutch in the bearing that the main gear sits on does what ?
It allows the motor to run the gear and chainring without making the pedals turn.

Re: Santa Cruz Cham-E-leon (mk7) - Mid Drive Conversion

I understand the frustration with the standard axle mount being just a tiny bit too narrow, and the 100mm axle being unnecessary wide. But I definitely wouldn't modify a nice frame like that to install the TSDZ2. It can be a good motor, but it has a few major flaws and it's better to at least try it...

Re: Santa Cruz Cham-E-leon (mk7) - Mid Drive Conversion

Maybe you already have read about possible improvements for TSDZ2, but one I definitely recommend is supporting the axle with additional bearing(s). At least on the non-drive side add another 6902 bearing to support the axle outside the circlip groove. Apparently some people have also replaced the o...

I'm glad that you guys have warned about the heating tendency, whatever may the reason be. I've been using stock fw this winter, and I ditched the temp sensor because before with v.1.0.0 the motor never got above 40C. I like to have a throttle mainly for some situations where pedal strikes are a con...

Thanks for the advice, I dismantled the motor and found the nylon gear was damaged, i had a spare metal one (think I still prefer the nylon one but its what i have here to test with) This fixed the issue with the motor jamming when spinning the wheel backwards. I then tried the motor out and still ...

Re: Bafang RM G310?

The Grin product page explains this pretty well. The motor is rated at 250W, and there aren't different watt ratings for this particular motor, but the wattage does not mean much. Depending on speed the motor can withstand up to 700W continuous before overheating. Voltage mainly affects the top spee...

Re: TSDZ2 OSF for all displays, VLCD5-VLCD6-XH18, LCD3, 860C.

Is this delay problem something you notice also in the stock firmware? Because it was troubling me as well with the OSF, and thus I've been using the stock fw and mostly I've been quite content with it. 52V battery and 36V motor gives assist with decent cadence, a bit more would be optimal but v.1.1...

I recommend these kind of straps for securing the battery (actually I think Voile Strap is the original, but a bit more expensive). Re: I need to get up to speed for recommending a kit

In my experience 60km range can be reached with 36V 20Ah battery, as long as some effort is put pedalling and speed kept moderate. On my hardtail mountain bike, Kona Honzo, I have a Bafang G310 geared rear hub motor, which apparently is not even very efficient, something like 80%. The 10s6p battery ...

Can someone confirm that I understand this correctly? For the 860c I need to flash a bin file to the display and a hex one to the motor. For a Tongsheng display I need to compile a hex from the configurator, and flash it to the motor only? With the Tongsheng display the process is reversible, and j...

Re: Friction *regen brake* sanity check

The GMAC does drag, due to the locked clutch that allows it to do regen. It definitely drags-- more so than something like a direct drive Leaf motor, in my observation. Maybe a bit of exaggeration by Grin, but they seem convinced it is less than a DD hub. Interesting. From Grin's GMAC description: ...

I don't have the exact same case but the sliding mechanism is similar. The base goes inside the battery case and should not raise it more than a couple millimeters. The seller (Em3ev) recommends about 18mm forwards and 8mm upwards clearance, so if you have 2cm and 1cm I think you are safe. Slightly ...
