Re: Bafang BBSHD "DIY" Speed sensor experimentation
Wow, this post is now over a year old. I'm back to change this thread into something that could help people. I got a new BBSHD speed sensor and the plastic snapped again! I decided to take it apart and see what makes it tick and if I can design something that isn't mounted with a plastic stick. The ...

Re: ASI BAC Controllers Europe Vendor
I really like your approach to the ASI BAC controllers. I'm all for being able to modify parameters at will from the app. I sent you a PM.

Re: Bafang BBSHD How I repaired my controller and how you might do it!
I guess my battery can't supply more than 30-35A. If the battery was the actual limiting factor, it would be shutting off due to overcurrent when you reach that, either as a direct overcurrent protection, or as low-voltage-cutoff from excessive sag during those current levels. If that's not happeni...

Re: Bafang BBSHD How I repaired my controller and how you might do it!
You might want to try a regular wattmeter between the battery and controller. Or a clamp-on ammeter on the battery output wires. Then you will be able to see if the current is really still increasing, and the display/controller simply can't provide a reading above the limit you're seeing. Sadly I h...

Re: Bafang BBSHD How I repaired my controller and how you might do it!
How are you measuring the current? If you are looking at the display, it will still be 30A even after the shunt mod, but the actual current will be higher. The current measurement on the display is based on the shunt. I measure current on my Eggrider, Im aware that there's a certain multiplier I ha...

Re: How To, 50A BBSHD Controller Mod
I did this mod and kindof broke my controller, you can read about how I fixed it here: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=105837&p=1548984#p1548984 Anyway! I now got two 2mOhm shunts, crazy small I know! But my motor still won't go over what would be about 30 amps. Anyone ...

Bafang BBSHD How I repaired my controller and how you might do it!
Hey guys, this is some kind of advanced troubleshooting guide for the BBSHD controller. :bolt: There's a capacitor that's connected in parallel to the + and - terminals. After the controller has been disconnected from the battery do the following: 1. Turn on your display. 2. Measure the voltage betw...

DIY Speed sensor | Bafang BBSHD sensor reverse engineering
This is a complete repurposing of this thread. Short story, I've broken 8FUN speed sensors in the past and finding information on how this speed sensor works was impossible. This thread aims to provide schematics, simple measurements, sample 3D designs and a place where people can talk about 8FUN an...
