Re: what to do with the wires?

The best solution by far is to use silicone SyrVet tape. It's cheap, comes in many colors, sticks to itself, kind of waterproof and reusable. Hides the wires well too. Black tape on a black frame will make the wires disappear. https://www.horse.com/item/syrvet-syrflex-bandage/SLT181151/ You can buy ...

PIF (pay it foward) FREE 48V meanwell clone

I've got an extra new 48V, 7.3A Meanwell clone still wrapped in plastic that I can't see ever using. Free shipping in the USA.

First reply gets it.

Sorry, but E-S doesn't allow auction type sales.

You need to set a price you'll accept.

Re: Ford etruck F-150 Lighting - Opinions?-

For awhile now I thought that might be the best way to go. It solves most all the problems. However that requires the utilities cooperation  . Good luck with that. Unless you want to go commando, I think that if you want to install solar you should be required to also install a small battery b...

Re: Garage Sale: Dune Buggy, BMC, x5403, Fairing, Moped Motor Mount, MORE

I know where you are coming from, but if that is what it will take in order to build that 600 hp sand rail, so be it. 🏁🏁🏁 Years back I was part of a team that built and raced a mid engine VW sandrail at Pismo and Glamis. I can't imagine what 600 hp would have been like in that light weight frame. Wh...

I can't see Ford telling customers to plug their Ford generator cord into their dryer outlet and saying its kosher with building code.
Me neither, but apparently that's what they are claiming. IF you picked the right options...

Doesnt seem like a tough job to do, but of course you would want a certified, master electrician to install whats needed on the house.
Ford is claiming that all is needed is the right options on the truck.Wonder what that will cost $10k?

I wonder what the additional cost would be for the required options needed to plug and play with your house? That would give you a mobile Tesla Powerwall.

Re: Ford etruck F-150 Lighting - Opinions?-

I think I have to call BS on their claim that the truck can auto supply a house with power thru the charging cord in an outage. I can't see an utility allowing the car to backfeed into their grid with only a fail safe on the charger and without something on the panel before it gets into the house ci...

15 years from now maybe the Tesla truck will be like the 55-57 Chevy Belaire's were to the teens in the 60&70's.

Re: Ford etruck F-150 Lighting - Opinions?-

To be honest, I don't see the point of Tesla's truck. Way too expensive for what it does. I do like that it is aluminum and won't rot out on the eastern salted roads as fast. I agree that the F-150 might be a game changer. It all depends on how well Ford executes. Even if it turns out to be only ave...

Chalo, If nothing else, getting a electric vehicle in the hands of some of our redneck brothers so they can experience an alternate mode of transportation will be beneficial to our planet's wellbeing in the long run.
