Re: new eZip motor

You won't be able to pedal at all. But in most cases you Don't! I have 4" wide triangle enclosure on my bike with a longer BB axle and it just clears the cranks. Don't forget they have studs on each side and that will make them wider. I know Sunder used them on a storage bank and said how durab...

Re: new eZip motor

So 60mm x 130mm isn't a big battery?
That will sure add up as you put them together. 130mm + screw ends! Wow that will be rather large. Yes they are safer and will live longer than I will but too big.
Ok with a trailer but no way on my bikes.

Re: new eZip motor

maybe you can use the trailer to tow the battery pack    Just kidding, they are too big for my bike. Could never nount them in a safe balance point. I have not seen any news on lithium fires lately. I see are large amount of e-bikes down here, A LOT. You need a metal ammo ...

Re: new eZip motor

I guess I miss all those fire related news down here. It seems all the talk is about Covid-19 stats. As for battery build, I would do the 10s 10p and have a battery to run in all your builds. Why have a small one that is over drawn even it matches your build. I never run a limited battery for anythi...

Re: new eZip motor

LC, do you realize that you can only ride ONE bike at a time? I have that same problem 5 bikes but only one rider, ME! I agree with "tomjasz " on some of his thoughts. You are pissing away much of your money on the wrong things. You talk about a Cromo, by now you could of had one if availa...

Re: new eZip motor

Have you tried contacting them to see if they have any rear wheels left? They did have some.

Suicide, Has them post changed? It always talked like a suicide mission for a long time. 30mph on a 20" kids bike, that's too much for me. Oh, with shoe brakes too.

Re: new eZip motor

Remember, leaving batteries in the cold cuts capacity like half. Being used than the cold, they don't like that.

Re: new eZip motor

Your freezing and I have the AC on??? Only low 80s today, Gonna get cold soon, like 50s. Has been almost freezing last week! You don't wanna solder on the cells any more than really needed. It looks like your gonna solder direct to the cell not tabs, They really don't like the heat, especially the n...

Re: new eZip motor

Some cells are rated at 3.6v nominal and some at 3.7.

Those pictures are too fuzzy to see what is what.
And yes some of the plastic packs do need a hammer to crack the weld. have opened many laptop packs like that. Hit the corner of the pack, not too hard.

Re: new eZip motor

Separate the wires and take pics. Many hub kits are the same but then again many are not. So you find the power wires. Then the phase wires, and at many times will not color match. The hall wires also. You need to find the throttle wires and make sure red goes red and black to black. Then you might ...

Re: new eZip motor

Are the frames Aluminum or steel? I doubt they would be Chromoly. I had to build a Chromoly rear suspension arm after the Aluminum cracked. Aluminum can only take so much pressure when tightening the axle nuts. The axle flats can split the dropout before you even get a ride out of it. Just trying to...

Re: new eZip motor

Maybe I shouldn't say this but, NOTHING you have will handle a Cromo hub motor at the power you are expecting. Yeah you can run a smaller controller so it doesn't destroy the bike but again why. There are many cheap DD hub motors that can do 40mph for a short distance and still be ridden at regular ...

Re: new eZip motor

I really don't know how they compare. You can get parts for Bafang but not sure where at this time. I believe that the used Bafang hubs are 500w since that is the most commonly used. 20mph should be no problem. I just think you are expecting too much for so little $. If you gotta have a Ferrari you ...

Look at the bottom of the item you are looking at and shipping is there. to your Zip looks like $24. Don't believe they do PO boxes. Remember these are all used, some more than others. Used cells and motors. Just look might not be what you want at all. Yes I have a Bafang 36v 350w? I believe. Ran fi...

Re: new eZip motor

LC, have you ever measured the tire diameter? Not what it says on the tire but measure the tire mounted to get the real dia. Or how about the circumference to get a real Speedo speed? All things do figure into gear ratios and actual speed. I will say, that your solder joints do look better, a lot. Y...

Re: new eZip motor

Too loud! Sounds like the chain is too tight, as I here a click click a lot. like the chain is hitting a spot or more on the sprockets, or a few master links. Sensorless controllers are pretty common now. Had/have one back in 07 still have it. It does work on a geared hub but not as well as a DD. I ...

Re: new eZip motor

I'm rather sure the charger I sent you has that option. You need to find the option in the manual or on line. I know my Ichargers and the 30a charger from HobbyKing has it. the internal resistor done on all those chargers are not really accurate but useful. Using a parallel board is the same as doin...
