$1500-2000 you can build a really good ebike. Spending $3-4k makes it all beefed up and draws unwanted attention. For me, the point of an ebike it to have fun and save money.

If someone goes wrong you cannot send it back. Id avoid anything coming directly from China.

The size of the pack is a little bigger, but the more Amp Hours in the pack the further you can go. I just did 55 miles on my 23 AH pack the other day. It was fun.

We had a guy wire 4 of these in parallel last year and on a single charge went 155 miles on his recumbent electric bike. Cool stuff.

AliExpress often violates the law and ships batteries as "gifts" to try and skirt battery shipping safety regulations.

Stress must be getting to him.

I've been charging ebike batteries for about 10 years now and never had a problem. I don't take apart and play with the inside of my packs either. I charge the pack in the corner of basement. Never had a problem.

2234 miles on my folding ebike. Mostly for commuting to work, but also riding for fun. Running a 48V AllCell Battery. Kevlar tires, puncture resistant tire tubes.. No flats so far.

My ebike has around 2600 miles. Everything on the bike works great. Just needs new tires because the treads are worn pretty good. Brake pads are worn and need to be replaced too.

I tell people to try and make your ebike blend in with other regular bikes. Dont have wires and gadgets sticking out. Dont clean it. Make it not stand out. It's best to take the battery pack with you. I use 2 kryptonite U locks on my ebike. Never had a problem with theft or vandalism.

If you want a cheap ebike you will NOT get quality. No different than any vehicle.

From my experience regen is not worth it. Having to carry the extra weight put more stress on the wheel spokes.

Amazon and Tesla are two very different companies! You cant compare the two.

This spring weather is great. I'm going to do a long 20 mile bike ride along lake Michigan today. Anyone else excited to break out your ebike to go on long rides? Where will you ride?

Recycling old ebikes is a good idea actually. I notice over the years most old ebikes work fine but just need a new battery.

Awesome cars, poorly run company. Where else can a company get away with never making a profit, and losing -$4000 per car?

Ha. No way man. My ebike is way to heavy for any wheelies.

In my view, ebikes aren't supposed to be fast. 25mph to speed is fast enough for riding in a city. I am always worried about potholes. At least out in the country you don't have to worry about traffic. I care more about range than speed.

You do realize that Tesla has never made a profit and are $4.5 billion dollars in debt? I love their cars, but how do you stay in business if you never make a profit?
