Edit: price dropped to $500!! Up for sale is my 16s 20ah A123 pack with custom case and built in BMS for charging. Re: Echo Tools 58V 4ah Batteries

I gotta a PM asking about discharge tests and I realized for some reason I never had posted it here! Anyhow I took the pack all the way down 39v at 350w and pulled 211wh and 4.156ah from the battery. My notes don't indicate the LVC coming in yet but I was afraid to over discharge. Charger consumes a...

Re: Electric Motoped

Sweet ride. Do you have some videos of this by any chance? Here is an old video when I was running the BMC Brushless 3kw motor at about 5-6kw which is max for the headways, 10kw controller max with the A123 pack. MIBfrcvciJI I will also try to get a couple more photos posted of the A123 battery pack.

SOLD! Electric Motoped Complete - Dropped to $2200 SOLD!

------Sold sold sold sold sold------Up for sale my Motoped electric build. This unit was one of the original hand built prototypes I purchased when working with the frame builder down in Santa Cruz when we had high hopes of making lots of electric motopeds. This unit is currently geared for around 4...

240v power supply to 120v

I am in the market for a new lab power supply and see some really good reviews for the Gopher units. The one I really would like to get is there CPS-6017 ($187 Shipped) which is a 60v 17a unit but is only 240v EU. I use my current one as a charger occasionally with an ideal diode circuit as protecti...

Kelly KDS Mini Brushless No current limiting!!!!

The short is the Kelly KDS Series motor controllers don't have battery side current limiting. The long is below: I spent that last 3 day getting my scooter all wired up to a tee, the way I planned on keeping for life. Try hard to get proper cable management and such. SO I get to programming my new K...

Re: Echo Tools 58V 4ah Batteries

Ok so I bought one to figure out what I can. The weedeater unit comes with a power head, charger, and a "58v" 4ah battery. I will start with the battery, cool design, very modular. Feels like it is built like a tank. 4 light fuel gauge when the button is pushed: IMG_0361_1024x768.JPG IMG_0360_1024x7...

Echo Tools 58V 4ah Batteries

Just was at home depot today and saw the new Echo line of battery powered tools. This includes a chain saw, lawn mower, hedge trimmer, and leaf blower. But what is really exciting is the tool system runs on a 58v and is running 4.0ah batteries (also have a 2ah one), That is ~230wh per pack. No idea ...

Re: Samsung 30Q INR18650-30Q 3000mah 15a cell

Thanks for the input guys! I placed an order and just got word the deal was too good to be true. Apparently the price was for 100 cells, not 200. :( The seller is asking that I cancel the order now and sent me a price list of all the 18650s they offer. Lame but the saying "too good to be true" alway...

Samsung 30Q INR18650-30Q 3000mah 15a cell

I had been looking over my battery choices a couple months ago and recently wrapped up my electrified GoPed project and want get a new battery for it. So I started looking at batteries again. Ok so the battery I’m not seeing much information on here is the Samsung INR18650-30Q. This is a 3000mah bat...

Re: 25,000 watt Motoped with 3kwh of nano-tech

Beautiful build! I am really curious what sorts of efficiency you see. My electric Motoped is only equipped with 0.8kwh, and I see about 50-70wh/mi! Doesn't get the range I want, has too much power and is too heavy. I'm sort of done with mine and need to sell it off. I like where you are taking your...

Helicopter Outrunner Motor Spacing

It been a while since I have been back to the sphere but with some spare time recently I am starting back up my projects. The one that I have been working on recently is using a KDE 700xf 295kv helicopter motor with a Goped frame. I was using this thing in a ghetto form with a 100a sensorless contro...

Re: ME0907 With Sine wave controller?

I ran my ME0907 for quite a while on the Kelly, and then switched to the Gen4, mainly because I coudn't get enough power with the Kelly I had ( their ratings seem to be a bit optimistic) but the reduction in noise was huge. The load clicking noise completely disappears, just a quiet hum on start up...

Well John also said the Kelly Actually do a pretty good job with the motor, so I guess I really won't worry about unless I want to reduce the noise.

Re: ME0907 With Sinewave controller?

...check your hall-phase wire combo - you may have a false positive, which may account for the extra noise and lower efficiency. I am pretty sure I am on a good hall combo but I will try a sensorless unit to check RPMs, noise, and no load power to see if there is any difference. These motors are no...

ME0907 With Sine wave controller?

Has anyone tried using the ME0907 with a sine wave controller? I am currently using a kelly and it is the noisest motor I have ever used. Open frame and that metal can acts like a drum driving around. My efficiencies are ok but not as good as I would hope. How much improvement in efficiency could I ...

Re: 420A 24S ESC by aliens

So do they have true current limiting. For example can I set the current limit at say 40 amps and full throttle stall without it cooking? 40amps off the pack is plenty to be sending >4,000amps phase current, and the controller's FETs only feel load from phase current. Many controllers try tricks to...

So is this BMS worth messing around with. I see the sample kits run about $100 and looks interesting. Any data output to computer through the link.
