Re: How should I connect the ignition switch cum voltmeter to the controller?

1. The red and black wire on the controller would normally be shorted via an ignition switch to turn the controller on. You should measure for voltage the two wires to determine which is at battery voltage (usually red, but not always). The battery positive wire can go to the green (Battery+) of you...

Re: My 1st ebike, Pls Help Verify Kit/Info Before I Buy

I can't tell how much your specs have evolved since your initial post, but doesn't seem like you are cutout for the realities of DIY, at least at this time. I wouldn't usually recommend this, but maybe it would be best for you to get your feet wet with something that fits within your budget, but rel...

Re: Help required on choosing a 3k rear hub motor

I have also looked at putting the motor in to 19inch motorcycle rims rather than use mountain bike ones I realise this will add more weight to the bike but I figured the motor will be doing most if not all the work and these should cope better As long as you're OK with the trade-offs. For performan...

Latest settings pics attached incase anyone can spot issues I'd start over with the throttle settings. Have you tried setting the throttle middle voltage to halfway between the min and max (2.825v based on you min and max values)? Also, the max phase current is more than three times the dc current ...

Can anyone recommend an after-market battery for my Blix Vika+ folding ebike ? I contacted Blix, but they do not have batteries available. What year? I looks like they had different battery styles: https://howtoebike.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Blix-Ebike-e1542510493216-900x450.jpg https://cdn.s...

Range has significant reduced, and the pack shuts down when showing an under-load voltage of around 48v. When I check the static voltage, it reads 52v. Fully charged, I'm at 58.6. Luna think the BMS is bad, and wants to sell me a new pack... Sounds like bad cells. Your voltage could be sagging more...

Re: 14KW E-Scrambler From VoilaMart Frame

For sure, I’ve heard of it. How difficult is safely drilling into the hub for that? Pretty easy since aluminum is so soft. You could put some tape on the drill bit to help keep you from overshooting and hitting something inside. Tilt or set the hub horizontal so you can drill slowly from below, and...

Hub sink is almost pointless without statorade, and statorade alone is enough usually.
That, plus getting a motor with a temp sensor, to let the controller deal with it.

Re: Help decide between All-Axle and GMAC

Just to confirm, the faster 8T will give me more torque which translates to a quicker acceleration to my max speed. I am open to relaxing my spec of no more than 32km/h but I am having trouble understanding why the 8T wouldn't work if I kept the speed limit in place. 8T will go faster than 32kmh. N...

Yeah, I guess my dilemma boils down to front vs rear. I am not sure what I want. I thought I preferred the Front since it just seems easier to install and spreads the weight around. My only worry is doing 5km stretches of 7%. The reason I was thinking rear hub was because it seems to be common advi...

You will need a bigger motor to do 65mph for more than a few minutes. One of the motor simulators can tell you how much power it's going to take to go a given speed. 5kW might be OK for 45mph. That's close to a stock Sur-ron power. From reading around here and on YouTube I’ve seen a number of guys ...

Re: GNG mid drive *sometimes* does not respond to throttle?

For those that don't, you'd probably have to build a circuit inside the controller to translate the 12v down to open-collector to work with the existing 5v. (partly because the controller already has 5v pullups in there, and partly because it might use direct MCU lines to read these signals, and pu...

I can't think of any reason to continue using SLA batteries in a vehicular application. Maybe if you can get them for free, and your vehicle somehow benefits from being heavy. Even then, nah. I feel your pain. Seems like most e-bike companies haven't figured out that their products need long-term support.
I think they've figured out that they don't need to, based on what the market with bear. Set the price right, and people with buy it; they may complain, but they'll still buy it.
