Hmm.. I was just going to suggest that you buy their 72V battery but I noticed it's not listed on their site anymore. I wonder what happened. The BBSHD is just dreamy on 72volts.

Re: Mini Cyclone on carbon full suspension

For steep hill climbing while Mt biking[? does it even exist?] the standing rider tries for such a [standing] position where he still gets traction but he needs all the pedal force he can muster. A little bit of wheel spinning and you are out of momentum. On the really steep stuff, as soon as I com...

Woodlandhills, which derailleur, shifter and cassette are you using?

Re: Getting the best chainline with the bbshd

Looks good overclocker. What do you mean by cassette without spiders? no aluminum carriers aka spider. just plain individual cogs like the CS-HG300 9spd 12 to 36t. these BBS drives are geared too tall so you want the biggest cogs. i'll be building a 42t soon Any idea which derailleur will work well...

Re: How to connect BBSHD to an external controller?

One thing I noticed about the video was that there were definite steps as the motor changed speed. That might be better than the BBSHD's stock controller, but I've never noticed any of those steps with the Cyclone. I'll have to check it again. I hope in use, that's plenty of steps. I think I mentio...

Re: How to connect BBSHD to an external controller?

Is that a much better controller? I'm just worried about programming it. I've never done that before. I think I can figure it out though. I wish it was as simple as using and app to control it. I have a question about your video. Does this sound significantly different than what it sounded like wit...

Re: How to connect BBSHD to an external controller?

I wouldn't use that cheapsh|t Yuyang controller from Luna. It's as chunky as all hell on the signal. Those noobs are gonna burn your pinion real fast. Bluetooth or not, it's not the harmonics you want. Despite what crazy Eric says about engineers being a dime a dozen, this engineer knows middrive h...

Here is a video of the how well it modulates the throttle. Note I have one hand holding the camera and other hand holding the throttle, while trying to twist it with my fingers, I have my bike apart at the moment because I'm doing some work to it. Re: Anyone try the Luna Cycle Bluetooth controller?

Yes, I'm using it on my BBSHD. Only have about 120 miles on it. The current limiting seems to work, although the menu option is not in such a way as - LIMIT CURRENT = 40 amps., it's more like: PERCENT CURRENT LIMIT = 60. So you scratch your head and think, 60% of what? When I set it to 60%, I'm seei...

Re: Ultimate BBSHD Now on 88V bring it on the powerrrr!

Keep in mind, Karl was hell bent on destroying the BBSHD. Alan here is using a sine wave controller. The controller I'm using is a square wave, but has a very gentle start. I'm sure if you mash it, you can peanut butter the gears in no time. I know Gman has pushed the amps to 60 or 90 on the Cyclone...

Re: Mini Cyclone on carbon full suspension

This 20mm wide belt snapped when I sent 43A@52V through my 2015 GNG mid drive. I'm hesitant to trust the LightningRods' belt which is only 5mm wider. Dingus snapped his LightningRods mid drive belt during a climb. With the Cyclone, you don't have to worry about a snapped belt or ever replacing a be...

Re: Ultimate BBSHD Now on 88V bring it on the powerrrr!

The chain line is the biggest issue for me right now. Thanks to evolutiongts, I got my BBSHD running on an external controller as well. Though I'm only doing 52volts, 40amps. I'm building up my 72 volt battery once I get some more nickel strip material. But I need to fix the chain line. I had to spa...

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

7.5kkit.jpg On the new Cyclone 7500 watt kit, I do not understand how the motor sheets adjust to a smaller dimension to fit bottom brackets less than 120 mm. See photo I'm guessing the sheets don't adjust. They stay at a set width and you fill in the gap between the sheet at and the bottom bracket ...

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

since a lager pack would require fewer charges per commute, I would think it's years in service would increase. If a 10ah would last 2 years, I would think a 20ah would last twice as long with half the charge discharge cycles. Couple that with seeing much less stress and heat, a pack closer to 20ah...

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

Yes, I was abusing the Cyclone. I was riding illegally so I was running a higher gear (lower rpms) to try keep the Cyclone noise down. I have no idea what rpm the motor was at. The whole climb was less than 10 minutes. I plan to use the 52 volt battery from now on. It had plenty of power at 52 volt...

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

I recently installed (epoxied) a Cycle Analyst temperature probe to the windings of my Cyclone 3000. I also installed another temperature probe on the outside of the motor directly adjacent to the internal probe. The results were unsettling. Yesterday doing a steady climb at approximately 3000W (67...

Why are people still harping on the whole "3220s only put out 4kw". That is such a crock. Well, to be fair he did say "from Karls recent review its seems the astro 3220 can only do peaks of 4kw and only for a short time unless you use a lipo" The part he's not getting is the lim...
