Re: Torque Arm Derailleur Mount

That is what I am probably going to do. I think one hole should be okay. Better be a strong bolt (high shear strength), since it'll be the only thing containing the torque of a 16kW motor. Maybe a grade 8? It is not the only thing. There will be a IS2000 mount torque arm on the other side. I plan t...

Re: Torque Arm Derailleur Mount

Isn't the hole in most frames a smooth bore with the threads being part of the hanger? Yes, but this frame is thick cromoly steel and the hole has a M10 thread. I used a derailleur hanger hole in addition to a rack mount hole long ago on a 3000w build. It worked. I wouldn't rely on the derailleur h...

Re: Torque Arm Derailleur Mount

Sorry, I forgot to mention that it does not have a derailleur hanger.
It's about 10mm thick cromoly steel.

It does not have rack/fender holes, but I am probably going to drill one.

Torque Arm Derailleur Mount

Did anybody try to use the derailleur mount hole for a torque arm?
Did it damage the thread of the hole?

Re: Sabvoton Throttle Sensitivity

Thanks. Do you know the resistance of the Sabvoton SVMC72150 mosfets?

Are there any waterproof 1kohm potentiometers? (which I would mount on the handlebar)
Another option would be to mount a switch on the handlebar and the potentiometer hidden.

Re: Sabvoton Throttle Sensitivity

I plan to use an ASI controller for my next project. Which motor are you using together with the ASI controller?

In the Sabvoton software you can set 4 values regarding throttle: min throttle voltage, max throttle voltage, middle throttle voltage and middle throttle phase amps.

Re: Sabvoton Throttle Sensitivity

The motor simulator is a very nice tool, but unfortunately it does not support field/flux weakening.
By the way, when using a custom controller in the simulator, I need to set a value for effective resistance. How do I measure this for the Sabvoton?

Re: Sabvoton Throttle Sensitivity

I just did some little tests. My throttle voltage range is 1.17V-5.00V Using a 464ohm in series with the red cable will make the voltage range 1.11V-3.06V Using 2x 464ohm in series (928ohm) gives a range of 1.07-1.96V. When using a resistance around 1.6kohm, it did not work at all. So my idea is to ...

Re: On/Off switch for 22S

For the Sabvoton to switch it on, the orange cable is connected to B+ (up to +92.4V for my setup).
The switch is connecting/disconnecting the orange cable to B+

It‘s just the ignition line, but probably the voltage was too high for the Chinese handlebar switch.

Re: Sabvoton Throttle Sensitivity

Lipos 22S (92.4V fully charged), 320amps continous and 640amps maximum. No BMS. I constantly monitor battery voltage. However I never managed to draw more than 190amps from the battery (Controller was set to 200/450amps). The battery is not the limiting factor. Limiting factor for acceleration is fr...

Re: Sabvoton Throttle Sensitivity

Thanks a lot for the reply. 100 max phase amps would be very boring. It is running at 150/350 amps, sometimes 200/450 for testing. I set the mid throttle voltage to 3V. If I set this to about 2V or less, the front will lift already only with little throttle applied. So using 3V and 170amps as thrott...

On/Off switch for 22S

I am looking for an on/off switch which can handle up to 100V. The Chinese on/off switch for the handlebar did not survive a week with 22S.

Sabvoton Throttle Sensitivity

I am using an unlocked Sabvoton SVMC72150 with a MXUS 3k 3T. I guess the throttle is controlling the phase amps. I am using 350amps max. phase amps. When near top speed with flux weakening disabled (around 55mph) only about 1/8 of the throttle is usable (15% throttle has the same effect as full thro...

Re: Looking for robust 24'' rim

Yes, it would be very interesing to see the efficiency with field weakening. I thought that the most efficient point would be the max speed with field weakening disabled. In most cases rpms are still below the point of maximum efficiency. Not sure if it would be possible to archive a higher effecien...

Re: Looking for robust 24'' rim

The top speed shown in the simulator is without any field weakening. It will be around 55mph for a 17'' mxus 3k 3T with a fully charged 22S battery.
It would be cool if the simulator would also support calculations with field weakening.

Re: Looking for robust 24'' rim

With the 17'' MC wheel I am doing 70mph with a 22S battery and 100amps of field weakening (unlocked Sabvoton). The bike without the battery is less than 30 kilograms. Usual 22S Lipo setup is about 7 kilograms and in the backpack. For more range I use 18S2P sometimes.

Re: Looking for robust 24'' rim

I have already ordered 2 SAS rims after I had seen that the Crystalytes were not available in the EU.
I only read good things about the SAS rims.

Do you think this 3'' tire will also survive high speeds (70mph+) ?

Re: How much Statorade for MXUS v3 3T

Wouldn't the fluid leak at higher RPMs if it isn't sealed?

RPMs of my motor are going up to 1200rpm when riding downhill on the street.

Re: Looking for robust 24'' rim

Thanks for the reply!

I would like to buy the Crystalyte rim, but I did not find it in the EU.
Shipping from Canada to Germany would be $130, so I would be paying $180 for one rim.

Looking for robust 24'' rim

At the moment I am using a MXUS v3 3k 3T inside a 17'' MC rim, however I don't like the high weight of the MC rim + tire.

My next project will be a bike for offroad use with a MXUS 3k inside the rear wheel. Are there any 24'' rims which can handle the forces?

How much Statorade for MXUS v3 3T

How many milliliters of Statorade would you add to to a MXUS v3 3k 3T to have the best balance between increased heat conductivity and drag?

Will any silicone sealant do the job of keeping the Statorade inside?

Which anti-spark connector for up to 100V

I am using a 22S battery most of the time and I don't want to replace the XT90S connectors every week.
The XT90S connectors are obviously not suitable for these battery voltages.

I will try jetimodel antispark connectors now. Are there any alternatives which are suitable for these voltages?

Re: Sabvoton slide-recharge problems

Yes, the maximum limit for the regen braking is around 85V. However only if the parameter "over volt" is set to 96V (which is the max. possible for the unlocked Sabvoton which I have) If "over volt" is set to something lower than this, max. regen voltage is about 10V lower than &...
