Re: Motor or Controller broken?

Sorry for the confusion. When I first tested to turn the motor diconnected, it was hard to turn. I guess I made a mistake during that and 2 phase cables were touching. When I tried it later, it was not hard to turn any more. After some measurements it came out that the resistance from one phase cabl...

Re: Motor or Controller broken?

I mentioned earlier that the motor is also hard to turn when disconnected. This is not the case. Probably there were two phase cables touching.
It turned out that it was the yellow phase wire which is shorted to 0V via the controller.
Looks like a blown FET.

Re: Motor or Controller broken?

Resitance phase wire via controller: Green to yellow phase wire: 10kohm Blue to yellow phase wire: 10kohm Blue to green phase wire: 20kohm Is that normal? Resistance phase wire via motor: All combinations <1Ohm Motor is hard to turn also with everything disconnected and power off. According to the m...

Motor or Controller broken?

Today I was pushing my 2000W bike too hard at the hot weather. It has a 40A KT controller with the LCD3 display and I think the motor is this one: https://bmsbattery.com/ebike-kit/471-q11-48v1kw-rear-driving-disc-brake-hub-motor-ebike-kit.html Power was suddenly gone and the motor became very hard t...

Re: Lower no-load speed with sine wave controller?

I am not going to replace the controller, but I am interested if there are more advanced controllers available. This will probably not be the last ebike that I am building. Before getting the Sabvoton, I was thinking about the Adaptto MAX-E, but at the moment they are not available and many people s...

Re: Lower no-load speed with sine wave controller?

Thanks a lot for the reply!

So the Sabvoton probably uses a simpler technique.
Are there any controllers that use a more sophisticated technique? (Adaptto?)
Which of them use space vector modulation?

Re: Problem w/ Temp Sensor MXUS 3k Sabvoton

It is fine with a resistance around 450 Ohm in series. One sensor reads around 545 and the other around 575 Ohms at about 25 degrees Celsius. I now switched to the second set of halls and temp sensor of the MXUS. This one shows more stable values when the motor is turning. It is always around 3-4 de...

Re: Lower no-load speed with sine wave controller?

Unfortunately that is not fast enough ;-) By the way, it is a 17'' mc rim. There is no Cycle Analyst connected. The seller told me that it is normal that the no load rpms are lower with sinewave controllers (flux weak disabled) than with squarewave controllers, but I thought no-load rpm would be the...

Lower no-load speed with sine wave controller?

Could it be that I cannot get as much rpm (no-load) with a sinewave contoller (flux weak. disabled) than I could get with a square wave?

I use a MXUS 3k v3 3T with a Sabvoton SVMC72150 and cannot get more than 588rpm @ 54V.
Kv of the 3T is 11.9, so rpm should be around 640.

Re: Problem w/ Temp Sensor MXUS 3k Sabvoton

I found a 480ohm resistance and put it in series. Now temp sensor says 32 when motor is standing still. With the motor turning it is 23-30. Real temp should be around 25 degrees Celsius. By the way, with a 1kohm resistance it says 90 with motor standing still. Is it normal that the temp sensor gives...

Re: Problem w/ Temp Sensor MXUS 3k Sabvoton

According to the seller, the Sabvoton is for a KTY83/110. Resistance from white controller cable (disconnected) to 0V is 10.88kohms. Resistance from white motor cable (disconnected) to 0V is 566ohms. Resistance to voltage is >100kohms and not stable (decreasing). By the way, is it normal that no-loa...

Re: Problem w/ Temp Sensor MXUS 3k Sabvoton

Throttle voltage is fine (5V). Sabvoton is configured to give a full throttle signal if throttle voltage is >4.4V, so that is not the problem. I have seen the rpm increase by about 20% when connecting the high-speed cable to 0V, however a few minutes later I realized that it was just because flux we...

Problem w/ Temp Sensor MXUS 3k Sabvoton

Hi everybody, Today I started connecting my MXUS 3K v3 (3T) to my Sabvoton SVMC72150. Swapped green and yellow phase and Hall cables and set Pn to 23. Hall angle test worked fine. I plan to run it at 20 or 21S, but for the moment I am testing with a 48V (13S) battery. For the moment there are two is...
