Re: Ebike touring and camping

You also need a very big battery, the biggest battery you can afford, the biggest battery that can attach to your bike. Rear rack battery mounts aren't good, battery inside the triangle is best.

Re: Rewind a cyclone 3kw motor for more power ?

Its called marketing, they do the same thing with 1kw hub motors advertised as 250W to get all the scared UK sales. In your 3kw vs 6kw it could be just the controller, if the motor is literally the same. But how can you really tell the motors are exactly the same from a website with little info to g...

Make it a habit to cut one wire at a time, even if the cable is not hooked up. Because one day you will nonchalant snip multiple wires at once and fry a board or kff :kff: I always forget to put the rear housing cap on XT90's or XT60's and when I do remember to put the housing cap on it doesnt snap ...

Re: new eZip motor

You need to measure the internal resistance of all the 18650's you have and go from there. Either that or charge every single one of them to the same voltage say 3.85V and let them sit for months and months at normal temperature. You could do a cycle test where you cycle each one and measure voltage...

I wonder how many Hozan can roll? I would have saved money on all the custom spokes I bought. Plus I could even put an ad in the online classifieds promoting my custom spoke service. https://www.amazon.com/HOZAN-Spoke-Threading-Machine-C700/dp/B000C3F5LY I believe they are $150usd with one included ...

Re: The Cycle Satiator, universal charger for the enthusiasts

I have no clue how all the pre-programmed charging profiles got deleted on my Satiator. After I am done charging I unplug the charging cable and unplug the power input cable to Satiator. Now I have to edit the only profile I have, from 57.5V @ various amps usually 5A, to 58.8V at 8A but sometimes I ...

In Alberta there is a 14 day limit and some private camp grounds ban tents. However campground sites are not cheap whether it be tent or rv power site plus fire wood used to be free now its expensive. The good news is you can camp for free in OHV area's, on government land, find a bush to hide behin...

Yeah well I dont know why I left that part in there but yeah Infineon doesnt make the controller, its just a common thing ebikers call Xie Chang controllers and its caught on wrongly. Just like its wrong when companies claim a 3T mxus 45H motor to be a "speed motor" and a 8T mxus 45H motor...

Should find out 1) what motor is on that bike, brushless geared or dd or is it a brushed motor 2) the rear dropouts spacing or o.l.d. 3) how far you can go on the battery off the charger. 4) ride the bike to see if its comfortable and can handle the bumps with such a small wheel 5) is it worth spend...

MAC might not be worth it if you overload the motor with to much overall weight whether that be by body weight and or cargo weight. Also to dig at the comment someone made about the MAC being the best motor. Best motor for what exactly? Every style of ebike motor setup has their advantages and disad...

Re: Ebike touring and camping

For really long distances you have a few choices 1) Really big battery, costly and big 2) Solar, very very bulky 3) Gas generator, bulky and heavy 4) Lots and lots and lots of pedaling An option is to tow a long a little small, quiet generator on a trailer. 40lbs and 12'x12'x12' at about 400-500W fo...

12Ah Gel Battery wouldnt net you much, with de-rating probably 9 or 10Ah then add the age, usage and temp cycling through the seasons stored in the shed you'd be lucky to get 5 or 6Ah out of it. If you pedal hard maybe net 15wh/mile at 48V x 5Ah = 250Wh = 15 miles which might suit your needs, if not...

So you pulled the rear sprocket off old random bikes and you wonder why they are failing without going out and buying a brand new Shimano rear sprocket or a Sunrace ebike specific rear sprocket as Chalo mentioned.

That is some great info, thanks for sharing. How much was the total weight on your ebike including your body weight with the mac motor, and was it 26" wheels? Hi Jil, bonjour (!) I had a 8t Mac hub motor on my two former setups (58V battery): a diamond frame bike and then a recumbent. The Mac w...
