Re: Ultimate BBSHD Grin Phase Runner FOC 3000W

Or you could use an IGH with that BMX chain and have three speed ranges....... Yes, very true. But for simplicity and reliability, I'm fine with a top speed of 25MPH and with that gear ratio, I can climb anything that I encounter on my work commute. I'm currently using a 30T front to a 34T rear, an...

Re: Ultimate BBSHD Grin Phase Runner FOC 3000W

That's insane. If I can hit 25MPH using 30T in front to a 42T in the rear, I would just run it as a single speed and get rid of the derailleur. I could also use BMX chain to boot. I'm fine with 25MPH and that gear ratio, as that will climb anything.

How many teeth are on the rear cog and how many teeth are on the front chainring when you're doing 25 miles per hour using the phase runner?

Where did you get those orange cell holders?

Re: Sinewave controller for Cyclone 3KW recommendation?

I definitely like the compact Phaserunner, but I haven't hear of any reports of someone using it successfully withe the Cyclone. If anyone has used this combo, I would love to hear about it. regards, Brian EvolutionGTS has done it. https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=69867&am...

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

Unread postby dirkdiggler » Sat Dec 10, 2016 6:25 am Yeah, the bbshd is tempting with external controller. Don't you still end up with controller mounting issues, lack of a nice display, speed sensor and added weight, not to mention the extra cost? Benefits are only non exposed chain and noise? Als...

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

I will report back! Part of why I like the BBSHD is because I don't have to find a place for the controller, but I just might be tempted to mod it someday! Too bad the PAS and the nice color LCD would be useless then. Part of me is wondering if I went nuts to pay this much for that thing, paying tw...

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

I just got a BBSHD! Bahahaha. I'm putting it on a 150mm travel Fuji Thrill LT 2.0 with a 180mm Fox fork. I decided to build this up to see what the fuss is about 26ers being more fun than 29ers. And I wanted to see if the BBSHD was really super quiet. I'll be really interested to hear your comparis...

Re: Ultimate BBSHD Grin Phase Runner FOC 3000W

It looks pretty tight in there. The phase runner is pretty small. It could pretty much fit anywhere, possible even in that space where you remove the old controller between the cranks and the BBSHD. Have you considered a backpack battery? I just recently converted to it and I think I like it better ...

Hmm.. I was just going to suggest that you buy their 72V battery but I noticed it's not listed on their site anymore. I wonder what happened. The BBSHD is just dreamy on 72volts.

Re: Mini Cyclone on carbon full suspension

For steep hill climbing while Mt biking[? does it even exist?] the standing rider tries for such a [standing] position where he still gets traction but he needs all the pedal force he can muster. A little bit of wheel spinning and you are out of momentum. On the really steep stuff, as soon as I com...

Re: Getting the best chainline with the bbshd

Looks good overclocker. What do you mean by cassette without spiders? no aluminum carriers aka spider. just plain individual cogs like the CS-HG300 9spd 12 to 36t. these BBS drives are geared too tall so you want the biggest cogs. i'll be building a 42t soon Any idea which derailleur will work well...

Re: How to connect BBSHD to an external controller?

One thing I noticed about the video was that there were definite steps as the motor changed speed. That might be better than the BBSHD's stock controller, but I've never noticed any of those steps with the Cyclone. I'll have to check it again. I hope in use, that's plenty of steps. I think I mentio...

Re: How to connect BBSHD to an external controller?

Is that a much better controller? I'm just worried about programming it. I've never done that before. I think I can figure it out though. I wish it was as simple as using and app to control it. I have a question about your video. Does this sound significantly different than what it sounded like wit...

Re: How to connect BBSHD to an external controller?

I wouldn't use that cheapsh|t Yuyang controller from Luna. It's as chunky as all hell on the signal. Those noobs are gonna burn your pinion real fast. Bluetooth or not, it's not the harmonics you want. Despite what crazy Eric says about engineers being a dime a dozen, this engineer knows middrive h...

Re: Anyone try the Luna Cycle Bluetooth controller?

Yes, I'm using it on my BBSHD. Only have about 120 miles on it. The current limiting seems to work, although the menu option is not in such a way as - LIMIT CURRENT = 40 amps., it's more like: PERCENT CURRENT LIMIT = 60. So you scratch your head and think, 60% of what? When I set it to 60%, I'm seei...

Re: Ultimate BBSHD Now on 88V bring it on the powerrrr!

Keep in mind, Karl was hell bent on destroying the BBSHD. Alan here is using a sine wave controller. The controller I'm using is a square wave, but has a very gentle start. I'm sure if you mash it, you can peanut butter the gears in no time. I know Gman has pushed the amps to 60 or 90 on the Cyclone...

Dingus, have you tried trail riding with a ~10lb backpack battery (and removed the equivalent weight battery off your bike)?
