HELP: Tongsheng tsdz2 - stuck halfway in bottom bracket

Hi all, new to the forum and ebikes.

I'm in the middle of installing my new mid-drive and just got the old BB out. Greased the BB threads and sliding in the motor and halfway through it gets stuck, won't push any further and feels like it is catching on the reversed threads as it pushes through.

Am I doing something stupid, any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Had a similar issue installing a BBS02 on an aluminum frame bike. There was a ridge inside the bottom bracket right in the middle. First I reamed the ridge out with a hole saw that fit within the threads of the bottom bracket and then used a round file to finish the job so that the BBS02 would slide in.
