I got a call from a friend in Florida asking if I knew how to get power from this ebike batteries for lighting his house while they are out of power. I didn't have a good answer. He does have300 solar panel watts and a Mppt to charge his bike. He has a small 12 volt inverter. He ended up using car/boat batteries to give light this last week. He is charging 12 volt batteries with the panels and a generator down the street. Fortunately he figured it out enough not to be in the dark but would be cool to be able to use all of our varous battery types from our hand tools, ebikes and what ever when needed. For instance, I have 5 ebike batteries thats 81 Ah @48v ,plus ,quite a bit of power tool batteries of various volts. Just an idea. Has anyone done this?

There's a number of threads about this, mostly the battery section, with useful info, some with tests. Some are in the lists linked below, which also have irrelevant stuff, but mostly can be determined by the thread titles:

This is everything with inverter in the title, not narrowed down

There are probably other keywords I didn't think of, too.

More can probably be found searching just the first posts of threads rather than only titles.

If you want to do this stick with 48V batteries; they are the easiest common voltage to use. In general you need an extra battery mount and a 48V inverter - those are common.
