Hi there,

So I have tan e-scooter called Dyad DS1 (official shop: https://dyadcycles.com/products/electric-scooters-ds1) which is basically the same as Kiwi E-bike (clone of Emmo Urban, Daymak Torino).

Here are its specs:

  • Brushless rear motor 500W
  • Portable lithium-ion battery
  • Samsung cell
  • Capacity 48V 26Ah

My battery has been stolen and thanks to the Covid, there are no batteries to buy anymore in Montreal. And they sell it for $1200 CAD which is pretty insane.

The battery case looks like this. It is a black-cased, no-name Lithium with the plate style/soft cells. It came with the bike and slides in underneath the seat.

I have two questions:

  • Can I buy this kind of batteries instead (shorturl.at/gjoxy)? How would you recommend I store them as I don't have the case anymore, and I can’t find a new case?

My inspiration is this amazing thread: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=86228.

I've been searching for answers for days now and I'm still not sure the type of batteries I should get or how I could replace it without spending a thousand dollars on it! Thanks so much for your help!

I Live in Montreal as well,Mile End . I have had my DYAD for 4 years. This year my battery or gauge is not accurate, as the fuel gauge swings all over the place when I drive it. I should get 16km on a fill-up, but I have been caught going somewhere and eventually walked half the way there and back
