Voltage selection

While I am still waiting for my parcel from China (now announced for Monday 22nd...),
I am trying to get some basic understanding about the cooperation of battery, controller and motor.

The kit I have ordered from QS includes (amongst others) a QS138 mid motor and a Kelly Controller KLS7245N.
The controller has a voltage range of "30-72 V".

Does this mean I will just have to connect a 48V battery and the motor will work?
And if I want to use e.g. 60 V, I only need a 60V battery and it will work, too?
And so on?

The controller will recognize the connected power source and act appropriately?

Sounds good. Just be sure to set the low voltage cutoff properly so you don't damage your battery by over discharging it.

:D :bolt:

Lower voltage will give you less speed and torque. At some level it will be too low to even spin the motor.

I'm waiting for my QS138 as well :) Did you get the QS138 v3 with internal gearbox?
