I am converting a 1999 Husqvarna SM610 to electric and I have a Golden motor, BLDC 10kW, with 48V windings. I will feed it with modules from a 2011 Nissan Leaf and if I choose 6 modules there is no problems with space in the frame, 7 is a tight fit and 8 is almost impossible. There are strikter regulations over 60 volts so that is a bad idea. Is it a bad idea overvolting my motor? Makes undervolting (45/48V) my projekt boring?

The motor will be fine at 59V (less than 60V)

Each module is 2S, so 7 of them are 14S, which ebikes call "52V" nominal.

When fully charged to 4.2V, the pack would be at 58.8V

If the 48V nominal controller has 63V max capacitors, it should be OK.

One more thing I would like to understand is why it's better for the modules to be pressed together? Do they last shorter if not?
