They're transitioning away from Indiegogo (which I would absolutely never order from, based on previous ebike disasters like Moar)

Now that they are taking orders on their website, there is no mention of "this order is a fundraiser, you might not get this, etc."

Does that mean we have some sort of consumer protections in place now, with regard to chargebacks, etc, if it doesn't ship?

Unfortunately, Paypal Buyer Protection does not cover 'motorized vehicles'

Current orders are for May-June shipping, so a 30-day or even 90-day protection policy from a credit card might not be long enough to protect you

Thoughts?
 
I would assume that no place is safe to order from until you see that many others have satisfactorily received their fully-functional products in a timely fashion.

The only "consumer protection" you really have is your ability to take them to civil court over whatever problems you end up having. Might cost you more to do that than live with the loss, between the court costs and the time. I think some places count on that.
