I have two Vectrix VX1 Motorcycles that I purchased that have about 900 miles on them. After doing a little research I figured out how to get them recharged but one of them only had a range of about thirty miles and the other barely had two. I immediately fell in love with them and out of all the bikes I own, including my Harley Road King and several vintage bikes, they quickly became my favorite. I decided to take the cells out of both bikes and combine the best ones in an effort to come up with one bike with a decent range and then maybe convert the other one to Lithium. I removed the batteries out of both bikes, but my wife fell terminately ill and I had to put the project on hold for the past year. Both bikes and the batteries have been stored in my garage and I would now like to get them going. Although I consider myself very mechanically inclined, I am new to the EV world and have very little experience working on them, especially compared to some of the genius experts whose work I have read about on this forum. I was wondering if someone would consider helping me get one of them back on the road either for pay or possibly working out some kind of trade for one of the bikes. I live in Walterboro, SC and have a shop where they could be worked on so I would prefer someone fairly local if possible but am willing to consider any options.
Thanks,
Kevin Hebert

I'm not local, so can't directly help, but:

If it helps, there are quite a few vectrix to lithium conversion hits in a search. This is the search I used
https://www.google.com/search?q=vectrix+lithium+conversion

A few snippets:

This one includes a link to a premade pack to drop in, but the site to buy is down ATM (perhaps due to the present conflict?) so I don't know it's status.

This one has no stock but they do have a contact button, perhaps they custom-make them for each order?

This one is a thread where the user built a pack, and has posts by others about their conversions

Personally, if I were doing a conversion, then if I could fit the modules I'd use some of the EV cell modules from Batteryhookup and similar places, because most of the interconnects are already there, and the cells are intended for high loads, and all you really need to do is verify they are all good then wire them up in series for the voltage you need, and parallel as many sets of them as necessary for the capacity (range) you need, and the c-rate (load-driving capability, current-delivery) required to operate the system at worst-case loads, then mechanically mount it all up in the bike, and add a BMS to at least monitor the system for you, or give you the ability to monitor it, even if its' not one that actively does anything to the cells/pack.

Thanks so much for all the information amberwolf. The links you provided are a great help. I especially like the idea of the premade drop in pack. Throughout all of my searching I was unable to find anything premade specifically for the Vectrix. Hopefully the site will be back up and running soon.
Thanks again for your help and your time.
Kevin
