I live in Thailand and have been researching electric kick scooters for a while, particularly on Alibaba and Aliexpress, where I make nearly all my online purchases for a whole variety of products. I was looking for a well engineered scooter, with large capacity, 48v Li-ion 18650 cells, and around 1000w motor.. Something my 9 year old daughter would love to ride in addition to her electric fat bike, and be interesting enough for me to use for running around our village when she is at school!
I then came across Kerrymotor on Alibaba, who specialise in manufacturing a small range of electric scooters and ebikes. They were promoting their new L8 Dual motor, 10" wheeled 800w motor powered scooter, with the option of a 20ah 48v battery pack, front and rear suspension and disc brakes, with folding seat and stem, front and rear led lighting etc for 550USD complete.
After receiving very prompt and professional responses to all my questions, and being offered Door to Door shipping by Air for a additional 220usd I decided to make the order and paid the 770usd by international bank swift transfer to their company bank in HK.
The scooter was shipped within days, and we received photos of our large box being handed over to the shipping agent.
It duly arrived in Thailand, and as promissed, their shipper managed to get it through customs without me having to pay any import duty or vat in Thailand, despite the official import duty being 60% of CIF value plus 7%Vat.. What a result!
The scooter arrived within days after to our home address, and I'm not sure whether it was my daughter or I who was the most impatient and excited to open the box!
Well, the scooter was even better manufactured than I'd hoped.. It is really superbly built and finished and amazing value for money. A switch on the handlebar let's you select Single or Dual motors, and the Colour Lcd display gives the option of 3 levels of power. I have already seen 50kph on the speedo in Power 3 with dual motors. It accelerates quicker than my Mxus 3000w powered Fatbike.. It really amazing! Yet on Power 1,with single motor it is very docile and easy to ride.
I have removed the Footboard, and the battery, wiring and controller are all very nicely installed, and the battery although it must be Chinese cells, appears to have loads of punch and range, matching the 30ah rating and specs indicated on the label.
I think this scooter is a steal at the price, and the service from Kerrymotor and their Patrick Du has been exemplary. He has even offered to supply a spare pair of tyres and tubes free of charge.. I just have to pay the postage.. How's that for customer service.
I can't recommend this scooter or manufacturer enough...

<t>Decided to add a couple of electric scooters to our existing pair of Electric Fatbikes, for running errands and doing the school runs with our young daughter. Both the Kerrywell L8 Dual 800w scooter, with 48v 20ah battery, and the Zyao X12 dual 60v, 20ah battery were bought direct from the respective manufacturers in China, via Alibaba.

Both scooters have proved to be excellent in service and great fun.. Even better with some fettling and wiring and connector upgrades, plus the addition of a Battman watt meter obtained from Luna, on the Zyao X12, as the standard meter didn't have any voltage or Watts readout.

The L8 with switchable 800w dual motors is an absolute blast. Really nicely made, and very good quality, in dual motor mode, and max power level selected, it rockets up to 60kph, spinning the front 10" wheel easily off the line. It out accelates my Mxus 3000w fatbike off the line, and beats it just for top speed.. Crazy fun!

The ZYAO X12 in contrast is a nice comfortable and stylish cruiser, reaches 47kph max on the flat, and has great range with the dual 60v, 20ah battery packs. Riding flat out on the flat, it will make around 80kms, pulling around 15amps/900w at around 45kph. Using Eco mode, it will run at around 35kph, pulling around 9amps/450watts, so can really travel a lot further on a full charge.

I experienced great service and information from both manufacturers during the ordering process, and can highly recommend both of these excellent scooters.</t>
