Has anyone tried using these in their battery packs? 10-15A continuous, 40A max. I think I did read that the discharge and Ah work indirectly in that if you want high Ah, you'll get low discharge, and vice versa. Is that normal?

Any test cases would be appreciated.

Sony VTC6 are actually cheaper per Ah and I'm sure better longevity

Lots of things are cheaper per Ah, but 40A out of an 18650 cell is freaky.

You'll never get 40 amps out of these whithout killing them in the process.
40 amps is just marketing numbers.

See these IMREN IMR 3200mah test numbers up to 40 amps where the cell is almost dead.

I assumed that was total from the pack.

If they meant per cell I agree too crazy optimistic, even if it were possible, would be **very** bad for cell longevity, and of course range, would not even make it around the block

It's probably more realistic to consider this a 15A cell, since the manufacturer more or less says as much.

Still it seems like it might be a good choice for accidentally welding stuff.

The 40A discharge curve looks like they stomped on the cell.
