Do you have experience with this NCR21700T model from "Panasonic"? Is it fake or rewrap of 21700A with welded cap on plus terminal or genuine one?

I ordered few samples for testing.

Did you already receive the goods? I'm also thinking to buy these.

there are also multiple sellers on taobao.

Finally yesterday they arrived. They are definitelly not Panasonic originally made as NCR21700T but some hand-made work. There is no bar code on the can. They seems to be cells removed from TM3 battery pack as there is visible removed UWB aluminium wire bond. Also the initial parameters are comparable to the new TM3 cell.

nominal capacity: 4.719 mAh
nominal energy: 17.214 Wh
nominal IEC DCIR: 21.899 mOhm
nominal 10s DCIR: 29.279 mOhm

At least they did weld them on, unlike some of the rewrapped junk *****fire cells we've seen, where the cap is only held on by the shrinkwrap (and is only there to hide the ripped-off spotwelds that show the cells were taken out of scrapped packs and are not "new").

They are all over in china even with different shrinkwraps.

Can we have a discharge curve on them please?

I think I can do that, do you have any special wish? It will take some time.

My opinion is that this cell is not much interesting, for applications up to 1C countinuous discharge, today choice no.1 is Samsung INR21700-50E (50E2). If you really need 3C continuous (you do not), the Molicel INR21700-M50A will probably outperform this cell significantly in all aspects.

Pajda,

could you please link to the test threads that give specific comparison data between these two reco cells?

And how do those compare to Samsung 29E7?

Longevity is my top concern

aside from availability in the USA and cost per kWh of course.

Low C-rates, usually.

I have found these cells for 1.2 usd in China alibaba .Not sure they are legit ,but soon i will purchase one for the fun.
So is this the original 4800 mah with these cells, or they hat 5000mah and this 4800 is a result of degradation?

Unfortunately I put them into the shelf because more interesting cells (at least for me) arrived which fully occupies my testers. I have crucial problem with those cells that any fundamental production consistency cannot be expected at all here.

I was about to post myself on this topic because I found some very affordable (?) batteries on eBay that claim to use 4800mah Panasonic 21700 cells and the NCR21700T is the only such cell I can find. Are the cells legit? They seem light, with 4800mah for a 45g cell according to Alibaba listing, compared to say 60g for the 5000mah Panasonic NCR21700A.
