BMS bypass problems

I have a problem with my BMS I may have wired it wrong to bypass discharge, 58.4v is coming from the charger but voltage measured from chargers positive to to B- is only measuring 57.8V, the BMS ftom C- is dropping a volt to B- , could anyone help me out here?

Should I snip the + wire next to the jst balance plug?
The positive wire from the charger connects straight to the battery terminal, I dont undwrstand the need for this small red wire up near the JST terminal, isnt it obsolete?

Could the BMS be busted or could it be that I should have connected the main negative to the bms via a small wire instead of being lazy and soldering them both straight to B- with lots of solder?
