Changing connectors on ancheer 36v?

Hello! I have an ancheer 26'' folder with XT90 connectors and a spare battery left over from a previous bike (same basic model as the ancheer, brand name is cliensy) with connector of an unknown type. The ancheer battery and the old battery are both 36v, 8ah, and use the same charger.

I'd like to convert the old battery to XT90 connectors so I can use it with the ancheer bike. How would I go about replacing the connector from the old battery with an XT90? Is there an adapter for the old battery or do I need to cut the head off, crimp, solder, etc?

Thanks

That's what you said, probably you didn't mean it like that but be careful thinking like that. You DO NOT want to simply cut the connector off like that. :kff: DO NOT let your cutting tool come into contact with both wires at the same time! Cut one conductor at a time, and take measures to not let them touch or let an electrically conductive tool touch both at the same time.

XT90 will require soldering, unless you get one with pigtails attached, then you can crimp the pigtails to your existing battery wires. In that case, you can make it safer (especially during assembly) and ultimately less bulky if you stagger the splices like this:
--------|------------------------
--------------------|------------

instead of simply like this:
---------------|-----------------
---------------|-----------------
