The molicel P26A is on some websites rated as the "best value" or "bestseller" or " best overall" 18650 battery in 2021 and has an awesome price , so i wanted to know the -thruth- about it. As i haven't found it as a topic i thought its time to start one.

I mean 2600mAh, 35A discharge and a price of about 4$ per cell sounds almost to good to be true.

So i would really appreciate all your opinions, experiences or knowledge about this cell.

Thanks for your help

Thanks for your reply ijr9005,
so as dyson is known as a high quality brand, i think its a good sign that the decided to go with molicel, right ?

from what ive read, molice is one of lith battery pioneers and best, at 20/700 just a little larger than 18650, if dyson feels thats the optimum who am i to argue? tore down first battery made with 18650 due to poor connections causing cell group death, batt 2.0 will have Strong welds, economy bms, 2 voltage alarms/monitors,may add active balance, the theory being these cells woul cost over £1000 new, i paid £55, an actiive balancer is £60 which ii think is best for used cells , will get a charger/discharger to better grade cells,,saving the molice till ive got the knack of batttery building for possible moped bike,

I fear you are associating high cost with Dyson being high quality.
Expensive ,...yes. But the Dyson cleaners i have had were no better , and lasted no longer than other much cheaper brands. Certainly their rechargeable stick vacs are not impressive with regards to battery life,..and especially poor design as you could not change or replace the battery pack.
Just cleaver marketing tactics.

Thanks a lot for your reply hillhater,
of course you are right about the a association due clever marketing. But i guess they absolutely want to avoid the bad publicity they'd get if the use bad cell and produce products that "sucks"..haha
I've also read that some good car brands and NASA and Boing use molicels, but i've no idea if that's true. And i guess it also doesn't really matter to us,right ?

Other than the Dyson stick vac’s , i dont have any experience of Molicel batteries.
But i do believe them to be a high quality manufacturer with good products.
But there is always a compromise between quality and cost depending on the use.
For me i would always choose the higher capacity cells as a priority with the Molicel 42A looking very good in those test comparisons.
