What safety features should I look for in a new ebike battery?
- I'd like to be able to see the cell voltage while I'm riding. (To spot struggling cells.)
- See balance status.
- Is it important to monitor each cell? Or is each series string of cells enough?

I've looked around, and see many batteries have no kind of display. (How does user know the cells are charged and balanced?)

My current thought is to go with the ebikes.ca LiGo batteries because each cell has a BMS. Is that an important feature? But as far as I can tell, you cannot get the individual cell voltage or balance status. How would the user detect a bad cell in a LiGo battery, if using a few in parallel?

A theoretical 1s8p battery with a bad cell could look normal until you used it. Then the voltage would rapidly fall. If this theoretical battery was placed in parallel, I think the other batteries in parallel would try to keep the voltage up, masking the problem. Or am I wrong?

Thoughts? Thanks in advance.
