I need some advice please.

Ive just upgraded my 5 year olds bike to a better esc,

the hobbywing ezrun max 8 capable of 160 amps at 22v, hes definately not going to need this.

so i can either put a 6s lipo 5000mah which can handle the amp load but wont last forever.
Or i can make up a 6s4p pack with samsung 2500mah 20amp batteries. will last twice as long but wont have the punch.

hmmm, the samsung cells i think will hande more abuse from him running it low.

I would recommend against any 4p round cell battery if you hope to pull 100+ amps from it.

In theory, you could run 40T cells or, like you already said, 25R cells, and have generous amounts of copper bussing to carry the current. A regular nickel strip build is not going to get that job done.

Lipo pouch cells are likely better suited to handle the high current and seem like the straight forward option to me.

Set the LVC to an appropriate level if you’re worried about running the cells too low.
