Hi All,

I am going to ask quite a beginner question but I want to get it right and figured it was worth asking prior to connecting up. I have some 46160 cells which I want to connect 3 in parallel. I have read conflicting info on what to do prior to connecting up. Do I:

1. Measure the voltage and ensure that the cells i connect in parallel are within a few hundreds of a volt of eachother.

2. Using the imax B6 i have, balance charge 3 cells in series and then connect them in parallel.

Just looking to do it the safest way and the way to maximise the potential of the cells. Any advice you guys could offer it would be great. I keep reading different things!

Thanks in advance

When you’re working on bare cells, best to have them discharged (20-30%) rather than full charge. Accidents happen and a short circuit of a fully charged cell could be a bit exciting.

Never had a problem with connecting cells with a difference of 0.1V or so in parallel, hundredths of a volt is ambitious
