I'm looking for a charger for my 12s 48V 10Ah battery pack. I only want to charge to 4.1v per cell for better longevity, so 49.2V final voltage. Anyone know of a charger like this, or one I could modify to get the voltage I need? It's a lipo pack so I wouldn't mind higher charge rates, 5A or even up to 10A.

Some easy to setup ones, no hacking required:

Cycle Satiator by Grin Tech

Meanwell HLG series LED PSUs (see the many threads /posts about them for details)

dont charge harder then you absolutly need to.
also: just buy a HLG or ELG line charger. dont forget you need a A version so have trimmer pots.
PS: a 14S pack is 48V. :roll:

if you want it: i have a heavy 480W 48V HLG charger that i am not using. if you want a good deal you can send me a message.

You might want to search my posts to see how I use a Mean Well HLG-320-48A power supply and Battery Medics to bulk charge my 12S LiPoly packs.

No mention if its a balance charge or not!

What is the Charge C-rate of them LiPo's - If they are Hobby King then you need not trust the whole value. When I looked last night at LiPo's I did not see any 12S, so are you using two 6S in series, say 5Ah per series string then two strings in parallel to get 10Ah.

A random HK lipo I found states 5C, zippy 25C dis 5ah 5C charge

If its just an evening multi-hour charge thats fine to go with 10A for 10Ah.
But if you are guerilla charging, I say 15-20A for 10Ah, that is 2C charge rate for HK rated 5C which you take with a grain of salt, not sure what the rule of thumb is, say slice of 1/3 of what they state.

Thanks all, I think I am going with the meanwell clone + battery medics solution. I also have an Imax b6 for balancing.

As for the charge and discharge rates of lipos, I never trusted their advertised values, I always run everything at half of what they put and I haven't run into trouble so far.

Just posting this here in case it helps someone else. Thanks

Make sure you get these Battery Medics;

All others are clones and have issues, including the ones Hobby King sells. THe black ones are particualy crappy.

Why not the Luna mini and turn down the voltage to suit, I turned up my 48v to charge 52v pack.
