I have not been able to update the firmware on the rc charger so it can bulk charge instead of balance charge all the time.
I was soldering the balance leads, while plugged in and the unit kept saying "Voltage too Hi" while the soldering iron was on a balance lead. I smelt smoke, a long puff came out.

Another one bites the dust!

Input FET has the Shmooooo

Obviously I could not get the component label

????? I do not understand this issue ?
I have an old Accucell6 ..all original as it came out of the box. No upgrades.
I only ever use it to "bulk charge"...never balance charge. Never connect the balance leads. (Manual balance method)
And the same with various other Turnigy RC chargers

Its an error on the part of Hobbyking's factory, its a firmware upgrade that seems to not work for some reason for me. Others have successfully updated the firmware over on RCGroup, but mine will stop with an error. I tried unsuccessfully for a few hours and gave up. Its funny because I was able to bulk charge 1S or maybe it was 2 or 3S, cant remember.

Here are the other "fets" by the output.

Next to the black output
P55 NF06?
GF317 V^
CHN715

MOSFET N Channel

Next to the red output.
IRF3205
P701P

are you sure you have a orignal and not a fake one?
