Unobtainium in USA currently (please correct). 500wh is way overpriced. Meanwhile 612wh and greater batteries for other systems are easy to find at 1/5 Yamaha cost.
The yamaha x94 system batteries are 3 prong and require a special 5v input in addition to the pos/neg wires, so you can't use one of the many 36v 612wh+ aftermarket batteries now available in the USA for cheap.
In germany guys are finding solutions:

I'm looking to find a 612wh or greater battery for my 2016 Haibike all Mtn Plus, and wonder if there are others also interested, or who have found a solution already.
