Adding Pedal Assist option to motor controller..

Post by Jyee81 » Jul 16 2019 4:03am

Can pedal assist be soldered/added to pcb?

Can you splice the Pas wire into the throttle wiring coming out of the 4.3 voltage solder point on the PCB itself the reason for this question is the old controller that came with my scooter had pedal assist option I guess these new scooter / pedicabs don't come with pedal assist so it's been kind of piecing together different parts and they're not working.

How could I get my pedal assist instead of the throttle could I just wire the pedal assist wires where the throttle wires on the circuit board where solder and just not use the throttle?

Most ebike controllers use the voltage level on the throttle input to control motor speed. WHen they have PAS inputs, they count the pulses produced by the PAS sensor.

That means, No, you cannot connect a PAS sensor to a throttle input.
