I bought a MXUS XF08 rear geared hubmotor off ebay. Cheap at $93. Maybe too cheap.

Put it in my 20" bike, using a 20A KT sinewave controller and LCD3. The motor only pulled 250-280W on 36V and around 400W on 48V. My BMS Battery Q100H would draw 500 and 800 watts respectively on the same batteries. I set P1=88 for the Mxus and P1=210 for the Q100. I haven't found P1 to do anything but provide the right speed display, but maybe I'm wrong and it's it's a bottle neck here.

Anyway, that's a bummer. I had planned to stick in my 9FET 25A kT-controller if the MXUS was any good.

Any comments appreciated. I put the Q100H back in the bike.

Thanks for the hint, but I already had the LCD3 set up for the Q100. so C5 =10 and C14=3. All I did was lower P1 to 88. It has 10 magnets, and 4:1 gearing so 40 would have been better, but I believe it only affects the speedometer.

The bike just felt weak, and the live wattage numbers on the LCD was hard evidence to support the seat of the pants. Afterwards, I put the Q100 back and the wattage went back to what I expected.

MAybe it is the P1 setting. I'll try it again when we get another warm day,

I think something is amiss w/ the motor.
I had an original, 2.4 Kg., 5 to 1 single compound geared MXUS motor and it was strong runner.
At one point I raced it against a Q100H. Both systems were approx. the same;
Both bikes had frt. mounted motors in 26" whl.s.
Q100H (260) - Grin Infineon 20 Amp controller and a 48 V Li-Ion pack
MXUS (250) - Lyen 22 Amp Infineon Mini Monster on a 12S (44V nom.) LiPoly pack.

The Q100H would jump out to a two length lead at the start, probably because of the compound gearing and a much lighter rider, but about half way thru the rev range, the MXUS would catch up and just walk away, being about 2 mph faster @ top speed.
I weighed at least 50 lb.s more than the other rider.
