I’m adding big Clyte hubmotor to what was a 50cc motor bike. The controller that I have does not support regen braking and I’d rather not buy a new controller until I put this all together and know if it will actually work.
I have drawn out a schematic for an electric brake without regen and would like the forum’s opinion.
The rectifier is from a Delco alternator and the rheostat is available from Amazon in various ohm ratings.
If it is a workable idea what ohm and wattage range would be needed for the rheostat?
Edit: I forgot to draw a switch on the output of the rectifier that would be also be activated by the brake lever.
