Ok I have three weller solder irons 15w- 40w and a 80w the big and little one need new tips. I have two solder suckers one plug in with rubber bulb and one spring loaded.
Ok I want to work on some controllers 5v rail out and a 900w 72 v charger with blown fet. I would like to fix ? Another thread
So I think a want an everything solder station or maybe just for PCB boards and relay on my big irons for bigger wires. So any suggestions ? A what else would I need ?

If you want temperature control, I've had good luck so far with the Weller WE1010NA
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077JDGY1J
and this basic tip kit
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07P1B2535

That looks like a pretty nice kit. Also love that Amazon feels the need to warn us that it contains small choking hazards so its not suitable for children under 3 years old.

Anyway, I don't know about you guys but I have come to the conclusion that most of my soldering problems are solved by frequently replacing tips. They all work great when they are new but seem to only last a few hours.

Maybe the standby feature of this station that Amberwolf linked would help extend the life of the tips. I wonder if I'm putting unnecessary wear on the tips when I am fiddling with setup or heatshrink and the iron is just sitting there hot.

If the tip stays at full temp all the time, especially without being cleaned and retinned, the surface oxidizes thoroughly, and you end up with poor heat transfer thru that surface.

I left my auto-temp-lowering at the shortest time limit, since I may take several minutes to set up for each solder joint / wire / etc., repositioning my viewing/magnifying camera and lights, part clips, etc., and there's no point in keeping the tip hot for that.

The weller I use only takes a few seconds to reheat to full temp from that "hold temp" (whcih is still easily hot enough to seriously burn you...in case you aren't careful with it).

I also use this stuff:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NS4J6BY
and one of those big coily-steel-shaving-type scrubbers (stuffed under the stand spring/holder) to shove the tip into every time I haven't used it for a few minutes, before I attempt to solder anything.

Thanks A.W. myl Amazon is having trouble. I see some soldering stations that have a heat gun and looks like the heat gun gets really hot 600 is this heat gun to melt the solder off of PCB boards or just for shrink wrap stuff. Yes dumbfounded. But have three sets of torches with three different gases. I have a 2000 degrees klim and a vacuum caster.I feel so stupid cuz I you make things but I can't understand the internet.E.S. is a helpful tool for me the dumbfounded dumbfounded.
Talk to text ?

I have the TS100. Im extremely pleased with it.

Voltlog on youtube has a few very good station reviews too.

Ordered the A.W. kits
Please post your impressions and links?

Thanks.

I got it from the A W. links. It feels solid especially the main control body. Everything seems of good quality. I ordered the five tips with it I've only use the tip that has come with it so far I took apart a charger where I had to unsolder all 5 gets at once to get the heat sink off. I reapplied what new facts. Now get .024 volts. It's gone. I had a Nick in my DD hib wires and how to cut them and make 21 different solder joints. It works on the ebike tester machine. I will hook it up this week in my other frame and see how it works in real life.
I like it so far. still trying to figure out what is my best temp for what wire. The cleaning sponge works very well to read Tin the tip.
