Where's the best place to put a thermistor in a DD hub? I have a Shengyi from a RadBikes here (see picture) and I want to add a thermistor since I will be pushing the hub harder than its rated power. I assume closest to the winding is ideal. So perhaps the exposed lamination just beneath the windings in the picture? Is there risk of interference due to inductive pickup if it's placed too close to the winding?

Yes, just under the winding on the iron would be a good spot. I haven't had issues with noise, but I suppose it's possible. Since the temp signal changes very slowly, it can be heavily filtered to keep noise out. You can glue it in place with epoxy or silicone.

Soldered to 30awg silicon wire and a few layers of kapton tape and some thermal grease. i shhtuck it in the coils. Works perfectly. The other end is a $10 BBQ thermometer. 9C motor.

Thanks guys. I am going with 10K NTC thermistor to try to maintain compatibility with the Grin controller ecosystem.
