My set up is a mtx2000w i will include picture of my battery and controller. my question is if i get a better controller will i be able to stop it heating up as much. I have done around 900miles and its came from alibaba so wondering if it is on its way out soon. I want to keep my wheel and battery but possible get better controller.

Is your controller mounted in open air?

It is in a bag mate but has plenty or room to breath

That doesn't matter once the air gets hot. Controllers don't go in bags. That's just the deal.

I had a similar 2000W kit and the controller did the same thing. Just simply replace the controller. I would upgrade to a Bluetooth controller so you can adjust the throttle, current etc. you’ll have a much smoother ride with a programmable controller plus more phase current :bolt:
Here’s a controller you could use that’s the same current but would have more phase current and give you more acceleration.
I’ve bought from this seller before they have fast shipping. I purchased the 80amp controller.
If you purchase the 80 amp version you would have more phase current and you can just lower the amps to whatever your battery can handle. These controllers don’t heat up at all even when pushed to the max current.

Agree with above, its summer now. Get it out in the air.

But no controller should get too hot to touch. Hot yes, but not leave a mark on your hand hot.

I know motors get really hot when running with the wrong phase combo. Controllers too?

I got the same issue with my 2000w kit. I installed intake and exhaust fan on the other side for it. See photos.
