How to enable on/off switch of phaserunner v3?

I have peeled back the throttle cable fromt he phaserunner v3. There I found the white and yellow wires for the on/off switch. However, nothing happens when I connect or disconnect them. My multimeter also doesn't show the voltage across them.
Is there a way to enable these cables to work?

I have tried touching the bare wires together, but the phaserunner and cycleanalyst stay on whatever I do.

i wouldnt clip the red wire like the email i received from Grin suggested, i think that advice was wrong and never got a return email when i asked them if they confused the orange with the red, the orange was already cut
