I am purchasing a front hub motor kit. And I also want to purchase the rear motor wheel but it does not come with a kit. So I am wondering If I can use the same controller (2 controllers) on both the front and the rear ? It is a gear motor. Planetary. Or can I put the front hub motor onto the rear ?
I will be using it like a moped.

Front motors are designed for no gears, and have a narrower axle for the 100mm width of your typical front fork. Rear motors must have room for the freewheel or cassette, and the frame is usually 135 mm in width. That is why a front motor cannot be used in the rear, and vice versa.

However, you can use two controllers to drive both motors. They even make a dual controller with one throttle input and two motor outputs, but it will cost you about $100. THe benefit is it saves a little trouble when you mount it. as there is only one controller, although it is 2X longer than the standard model.
