I am looking for a small perhaps RC type watt hour/Amphr meter to attach to my bike or scooter. 48V max 2KW. I have use one of the cheap 'blue' ones before, but is there anything more durable and maybe smaller that is recommended?
Having a remote mount display would be ideal, but I know the RC ones don't have that option.
Thank you!

The cheap power meters that have an external shunt can be mounted wherever you like.

Do you need to retain the Wh information when the power is turned off and on? Many reset to zero if you shut off the power.

It would be nice for it to keep track, but if I wire it to the battery, the bike auto power down after x min wouldn't effect that. Some I see have a Hal sensor instead of a shunt. Not too sure if those are very accurate but probably enough. What's sad is how 99% of bikes and scooters still have voltage based 'bars' that don't behave similar to a fuel gauge that we would like to see.

Nobody who knows what he's doing uses those for any important range estimates.

For those who don't know what they're doing, it doesn't matter anyway.

I like the ones by Drock.

They come in various Amperage and Voltage levels and retain their accumulated power and energy totals when shut off. The same meters are sold under several brand names including: Bayrite, Knacro and HiLetgo.

There is another version that uses what I believe is an induction coil but I can not speak to its operation, accuracy or reliability as I have not physically seen one. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09P65M2YF
Found the Manual for the latter: https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/D1xd3n-y-DS.pdf
Update:
That manual states: "Using Hall Sensors to test current"
YouTube Video: https://youtu.be/yDQZBRDMoVY and https://youtu.be/cp2qrXKJ654
.... now I am going to have to order one ... dang

A heads-up unrelated to the electrical properties. This output of this display is polarized in a way that you get maximum extinction with polarized sunglasses. I other words, you won't be able to read it if you're wearing polarized glasses.

Yes, the problem with the $12 RC wattmeters is they're poorly calibrated. I was intrigued by the DROK's because of the remote shunt, but reviews also fault their calibration.

I may get one anyway, just so I can stick it on my handlebars temporarily to varify the amps going thru my bikes.

Using this one about a month, without problems so far. It has an external shunt, doesn't reset when battery is powered off.

The mount isn't included, it's 3D printed (made in Fusion 360).
