Hello there!

So I am about to receive a MQCON ML7245 Clone (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004105836465.html) and they have not included the programming cable in the kit of course. :D

I've done some digging and found a blurry image of the PCB in a review and I think I got the pinout correct:

I suspect this to be SWD, but this is where my knowledge in this ends... I have RS232->USB and TTL->USB adapters at home... But I have never used SWD, or at least I do not know how to connect to this interface.

This is the software it should be able to connect with:

Have any one here made your own cable to be able to do this?

Interested to see if it works out. I noticed the "clones" have different functions and pinouts than the MQCON models, so hardware may be different.

Yeah I agree. I have no pictures of the original ML7245 PCB to compare with. I will try to make this work. Will have to get some help to investigate the electronics to see what interface it actually is.

I have two of the 80A versions, which I suppose is a clone of the ML7280 http://mqcontroller.com/show/?id=25
ML7245: http://mqcontroller.com/show/?id=3

APL is using one on his bike:

Thank you so much for the thread links!!

I also wonder, does anyone know where I can get this software? It is not available through www.mqcon.com anymore, from what I can tell!

Okey, so I have received my controller and it did not have any port soldered onto it. But it makes it actually easier because I can add whatever I want to it.

So this is what I got today:

My plan is to just use Tx, Rx and Gnd. But then I guess I have to connect it to my big 60V battery setup... Which makes it not that convenient.

Does anyone here have a suggestion on how to proceed? Do I dare to supply 5V to the 5V pin on the PCB and not have it hooked up to the main 60V battery pack?

I have two different USB adapters to test with:

This is how I mapped out the pinouts

I have got my USB adapter installed with the correct drivers now and shows up as COM3...

I just have the controller laying on my desk now and the only wires going into it are TX/RX/GND.

1. Power - you will need some sort of 3.3v to 5v to power the SMD I believe.

2. Check out this video for a programming..

3. Check out this listing for a clone which has the programming cable coming off the main harness, not sure which pins they are going to.

I think you are the right track, just need to fine tune and and see if you can read the current settings i.e. connect to the chip.

I just posted a similar post to this tonight also, my socket wasn't fitted so I bought one and a plug and made a cable, I soldered it to one of my Arduino serial TTL converters that I program things with, it has Rx and TX lights that usually flash in sequence, connected to my controller the Rx light is permanently on the tx light half on. Swapping the Rx/tx wires gives no change, this leads me to believe it's not a simple serial connection.

The link to the YouTube video above shows programming an esp 32 and these controllers use a totally different beast of a processor.

My reason for wanting to connect is on full throttle i get good power to about 30mph (mxus 3k turbo in a 19 wheel) then the controller shuts down. tried all wheel wiring combinations from the 36way wiring cheat sheet etc. power off/on same again.

edit: was going through different wiring combinations for the wheel/halls and while running rough it blew a phase, now having to replace the mosfets. I've posted a thread asking for suggestions as the ones in it are only 85v rated and thats pushing it at 75-85v running even more so with wheel back emf..... why they advertise these as suitable for 84v packs i dont know, oh hang on, profit....
