After several months with a TSDZ2 on an Extracycle Cargo bike, I find myself wanting something at the upper end of what is possible for power and speed. The TSDZ2 set to 500w peak is decent, but I'm looking to add to the fleet with something not so long and with more power. The cargo bike will still be good for the grocery store and school dropoff, but I want something to go faster uphill to trailheads for running and faster long commutes.

I have toyed with going with the tried and true BBSHD, but came across the Bafang Ultra.

It has similar power and price, but I really like the integrated look and I am used to torque sensing on my TSDZ2. It seems perfect for me.

I have a bit of spare parts and really only need the drive, frame, and possibly a battery. I might double up usage on my current battery.

Are there any "off the shelf" frames available? I'd prefer spending under $500, so Aluminum is preferred. Frame and drive, under $1500 would be great. Something like this, but with bottle boss battery mount, would be perfect.

I have scoured Alibaba and google with no perfect solution. This is the closest and is a bit more than I'm looking to spend.

A fat frame is preferred but I could go with a standard hardtail. We get snow where I live, so I'd like to have the option for snow and have just one more bike.

Any help is appreciated.

Did you contact Frey and/or M2S to determine whether they wold sell a frame and motor only. Also, there are thread(s) where an individual purchased a carbon frame and Ultra separately and built it up.

Frey only sells complete bikes, because of overal quality control.

Just spec a bike with your parts.

I'd buy the bike complete and sell any parts u don't use save you £€$
The frey frame has a 190mm rear dropout I've not seen that on the diy frames I seen they are 175mm decent components spec to for the price it's a grab.
