I have looked through the giant Sur-Ron thread and I do not see answers to this question. Have you licensed a Sur-Ron?
If so, in what state?
What was the process?
How did they deal with the VIN issue?
Any other details would be appreciated.
In the state I am in there are two blocks to getting a VIN assigned as a motorized bicycle. The first is that it doesn't have an automatic transmission, the second is that I have not assembled it from "other parts." That said, the first one was the total show stopper for me here in Kansas.
I am considering having my sister register it in California as a moped, then "buying" it from her and then registering it here as the process for a vehicle from out of state is very different than the initial registration. That said, I want to know if, and how they have been registered in California, or any other state.
So, please, if you have registered your SurRon, where and how did you do it?
