I’ve swapped the controller on my dads 36v BBS02 to a 48v one.

It fired up ok and I programmed it with usual settings and left it at 25a.

However the motor stutters or ‘misfires’ at full throttle. It does draw peak 1,300w but pulses violently; the display wattage bounces up and down sometimes showing 0.

If I slowly ramp it on, it does not stutter and will sustain 1,300w

I set the controller to 20a but the same happens.

I am not pedalling at all. I have added and removed the fetcher transistor throttle fix...no difference.

The battery is a brand new Hailong 14s4p 35E that I built for him. As a post production test, I had ridden it 40 miles on my BBS HD @ 25a so I’m fairly certain it’s healthy. It’s fully charged and only sags 2-3v @ 25a.

The bike and motor has a couple of thousand miles on it and was ridden to me today (healthy). I have tested the throttle with a multimeter and it’s a smooth 0.85v-4.30v

I have checked the hall sensor connector and it looked ok but I will check again.

It’s a new style controller from China.

Has anybody experienced similar and have some pointers?

Thanks
