My love and joy 6KW tangent internals have had some catestrophic damage. Since parts are rarer than hen's teeth I've been looking at options.
I was considering swapping the whole kit to a CYC X1 PRO, but I really like my CA/throttle etc.... Worked really well on the Tangent.
To save cost and keep the things I like I was wondering if it's possible to run the CYC X1 Planetary reduction mated with an Astro 3220? I would obviously need to machine some custom bits to get it to mount up but that's not a biggie imo.
From what I gather the CYC motor and Astro 3220 max RPM are in the same range. The only difference that I can find is that the CYC X1 PRO reduction does much of the "reducing" external to the planetary gears as part of the crank/chainring. So I would need to swap that into the bike as well.
Any reason I couldn't just pop the 3220 into the CYC gearbox?
